Main duties and responsibilities

Working in the sterile room at a dental clinic requires knowledge of basic hygiene routines and how sterile technical equipment functions. You work with functional checks, instrument care, and packaging of instruments, as well as starting and monitoring disinfection processes. You are also responsible for ensuring that operations are conducted in accordance with established goals and the regulations in place at Folktandvården.

The position includes, among other things:

• Responsibility for operations in the sterile room, such as cleaning instruments and similar tasks.
• Responsibility for ensuring that hygiene routines in the sterile room are followed.
• The work is independent with varying tasks.

For you who are a dental hygienist and apply for the position, assistance and other usual dental hygienist tasks may also become relevant if desired.

It may also become relevant to work with other clinic assignments such as, for example, the clinic's orders as well as environment and hygiene routines upon agreement.

The Specialist Clinic for Pedodontics Gothenburg consists of three units located at Odontologen, Mölndal Hospital, and Östra Hospital. We also provide anesthesia dental care at several hospitals in the region.

The position is located at Pedodontics Odontologen.

Competency requirements and profile

We want you to be/have:

• Trained as a dental hygienist or sterile technician with an approved education from MYH (The Swedish Authority for Higher Vocational Education).
• Knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to Swedish upper secondary school or Swedish C1 in both speech and writing.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and wise manner.
• Ability to give a stable and calm impression even when there is a lot to do.
• Ability to collaborate and relate to other people in a listening manner.
• Interest in and good knowledge of hygiene and sterile work.

About the recruitment process

After the application period ends, the clinic manager selects applicants and invites them for an interview at the clinic. These interviews are scheduled for weeks 27-28.

Folktandvården Västra Götalandsregionen conducts checks in the suspicion and criminal registers before employment.
