The Adult Education department in Piteå is now looking for an engaged teacher in Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language.

About the position

As a teacher with us, you will teach Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language at both basic and upper secondary levels within adult education. The extent of teaching in each subject varies depending on the student population, current course offerings, and the needs of the organization.

You will meet students with different backgrounds, study habits, and goals – from those who wish to complete grades to those taking the next step towards employment or further studies. Our students often combine studies with work, family life, or other commitments, which requires a flexible and accessible approach to work.

Teaching in Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language at the Learning Centre is conducted in flexible study formats. Therefore, the role includes teaching both on-site and digitally, as well as adapting teaching based on students' individual prerequisites, goals, and study situations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and follow up on teaching in Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language at basic and upper secondary levels.
• Design teaching based on the mission of adult education as well as students' individual prerequisites, goals, and study plans.
• Provide support, guidance, and counseling to students both individually and in groups to promote their knowledge development and goal achievement.
• Assess, document, and follow up on students' knowledge in accordance with current regulatory documents.
• Adapt teaching, learning environments, and working methods to create good conditions for learning and progression.
• Collaborate with colleagues and other staff to contribute to an accessible, inclusive, and developmental learning environment.
• Actively participate in the unit's systematic quality work and contribute to the development of the organization's teaching and results.
• Participate in the work with flexible study formats where teaching can be conducted both on-site and digitally.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with eligibility in Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language at basic and upper secondary levels.

It is meritorious if you have:

• experience of teaching within adult education
• experience of distance teaching and digital tools

You have good pedagogical skills and can adapt teaching to individual needs. You are confident in teaching digitally, both in groups and individually, and can create structure and presence even in digital learning environments. You also have good collaboration skills, are flexible, and thrive in a developing organization.

We may also be interested in you with other pedagogical education and can then offer a time-limited employment according to the School Act.
