About Us

Närhälsan Älvängen Health Centre is a stable and well-functioning unit with competent and experienced staff. Approximately 7,700 patients are registered with us. We offer a wide range of services including urgent care, scheduled doctor appointments, Child Health Services (CHS), and several nurse clinics, including those for diabetes and asthma/COPD. The health centre also has a psychosocial team comprising a psychologist, a CBT therapist, and a rehabilitation coordinator. Our CHS is located in newly built premises and is part of Älvbarnens Family Centre in Älvängen.

Älvängen is a pleasant and growing town with good transport links. The health centre is centrally located, near the Göta River, with easy access to both train and bus, making commuting convenient from both Gothenburg and Trollhättan.

About the Role

Your duties at the health centre will be varied, with the patient at the centre of everything. The work includes independent work in the laboratory with sample collection and checks. You will assist doctors with wound care and minor procedures, as well as perform common examinations such as blood pressure measurements and ECGs. Other tasks may include wound dressing changes, suturing, and running your own nurse clinic. You will work both independently and as part of a team with other staff categories at the health centre. Ordering supplies and preparing examination rooms are part of the daily routine. We use the medical record system Asynja Visph.

About You

• You have documented education as a nurse assistant (undersköterska).
• You have previous experience working at a health centre and in venous blood sampling.
• Previous experience with wound dressing changes, suturing, blood pressure measurement, and running your own nurse clinic is an advantage.
• Previous experience in reception work is desirable, as some duties may be located at the reception upon agreement.

In your work, you will meet many patients, so it is important that you are accommodating, attentive, and have a desire to help others. We also believe that you enjoy teamwork and have a natural ability to collaborate with colleagues and other contacts in your work. The workload is varied and sometimes high, so it is important that you have good prioritization skills and are flexible.

Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis.

As of July 1, 2023, "nurse assistant" (undersköterska) became a protected professional title. This means you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) to use the title nurse assistant within care and social services.
