About the position

Pediatric Radiology at Karolinska University Hospital operates in both Solna and Huddinge. The department focuses on highly specialized pediatric radiological diagnostics and research, serving children and young people aged 0–18.

As a sonographer within our pediatric ultrasound department, you will have an independent, varied, and meaningful job. You will become an important part of the team, with your main task being to perform ultrasound examinations on children and young people. The work involves daily contact with patients of different ages, which requires a secure, pedagogical, and professional approach towards both children and their relatives.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Planning and performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations based on referrals
• Analyzing and documenting imaging material and preparing reports
• Closely collaborating with doctors, other sonographers, and nursing assistants to ensure a smooth patient flow and the best possible care
• Actively contributing to the department's development, improvement, and quality work

The position is a fixed-term contract of at least one year, starting September 1st or as agreed. For the right person, there are good opportunities for extension or future permanent employment.

The working hours are 40 hours per week, primarily during daytime, but evening shifts may occur. You will work at our units in both Solna and Huddinge.

• Communicate clearly and ensure that information reaches colleagues, patients, and relatives

• Have a holistic view and want to contribute to the department's development and quality work.

Personal suitability is given great weight.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Licensed radiographer or biomedical scientist with high competence in ultrasound
• At least 3 years of experience working as a sonographer
• Good clinical experience in leading and supervising others

Merits:

• Advanced level supervision training
• Experience working with children
• Master's degree
