Härnösand Parish seeks a Vicar for Säbrå and Häggdånger – with a special assignment as a military chaplain at the Västernorrland Group in Härnösand.

This is a role for you who wish to serve as a priest across the full breadth of the mission: in worship, in meeting people at various stages of life, in the work of parish councils, and in conversations concerning faith, responsibility, ethics, and human dignity. You will be a present priest in two congregations with strong local roots, while simultaneously serving as a pastoral care resource within the Swedish Armed Forces environment.

We are looking for someone who is secure in their priestly identity, theologically grounded, and genuinely interested in people. You listen with warmth, build trust, and can meet both everyday questions and the deepest seriousness of life.

The role as Parish Priest

As Vicar in Säbrå and Häggdånger, you will have a broad and meaningful assignment. You will lead and develop worship life, serve at church services throughout the parish, and act as the priestly representative on the parish councils. You will collaborate closely with parish councils, volunteers, and colleagues to strengthen and shape congregational life.

Your work is shaped by the meeting between the needs of the congregations and your own gifts and experiences.

The role as Military Chaplain

As a military chaplain at the Västernorrland Group, you will be a present pastoral caregiver in the daily life of the Swedish Armed Forces. You will offer conversations, support, and ethical reflection for personnel who bear great responsibility and sometimes work under pressure. The assignment is about creating safety, contributing to reflection, and being a stable voice in questions of responsibility, worldview, and meaning.

You will participate in exercises and gatherings, be available for individual conversations, and collaborate with the Swedish Armed Forces from the Church's pastoral care mandate. Here, you get to be a priest for people regardless of faith, background, or worldview.

Special introduction or training may become relevant, and the assignment may require a security clearance.

Qualifications

For this position, you must:

• be qualified to serve as a priest in the Church of Sweden
• have a B driving license
• have access to your own car
