We are currently in an exciting phase of development. We are a driving force in digital development and artificial intelligence, and together we create smart solutions for the people of Sundsvall today and in the future.

Your new workplace
The central investigation units of the Individual and Labor Market Administration (IAF) are looking for dedicated social secretaries who want to contribute to making a difference for children, young people, and their families in Sundsvall Municipality. Here, we work together, have a good atmosphere in our work groups, and are a helpful, cooperative team. We consist of dedicated and experienced family therapists, social secretaries, specialists, coordinators, and unit managers. We have decentralized frontline operations with family therapists and social secretaries, as well as central investigation units located in the municipal building.
We offer external supervision, and as a new employee, you will have access to mentorship. As a social secretary here, you also have the opportunity to work according to the 6+2 work time model, which means 6 hours of workplace-based time per day. The remaining 2 hours are reserved for reflection, further education, and wellness. We offer supervision and opportunities for wellness, such as annual gym memberships, ski tracks at Södra Berget, and the municipality's leisure facilities.
IAF covers the areas of Children, Young People and Families, Substance Abuse and Mental Illness, Work and Sustainment, and Adult Education. We create conditions for secure upbringing and reduced social exclusion, improved quality of life in cases of mental illness and substance abuse, as well as learning and work. We increase the individual's opportunities for self-sufficiency. We work preventively and, based on the individual's needs and possibilities, provide the right support at the right time. Within the Children, Young People and Families unit, we are organized into four geographical teams/areas: Ljustadalen/Sundsbruk, Skönsberg, Bredsand, and Nacksta. Within all teams, we work across the entire age span of 0–18 years for children and young people, and each team includes a central part and a decentralized frontline.
How you contribute in the role of Social Secretary
As a social secretary in the central investigation unit, you are responsible for investigating reports and applications regarding children and young people who may need support or protection under the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act of Care of Young Persons (LVU). You also work with the implementation and follow-up of outpatient interventions, certain placements, and young offenders. The goal of the operation is that children and young people in need of our interventions should have the opportunity through our investigations, which clarify the needs of the children and their parents. The work is challenging, competence-building, and offers opportunities for personal development. As a new employee, you will be introduced step-by-step to the various tasks based on your needs, and you will have good access to management and support in your work. You will also be offered specific training on various methods and the opportunity to participate in a county-wide educational program for children and young people called "Yrkesresan" (The Career Journey).
Your competence and experience
A degree in Social Work and previous experience in social work are required for the position. We would like you to be interested in evidence-based work and have the ability to apply and share your knowledge. You have good communication skills and can express yourself well both orally and in writing. As a person, you are independent and adaptable to changing circumstances, structured, and able to work with a clear focus. You possess personal maturity, meaning you are emotionally stable, have self-awareness, and are confident in yourself. You can distinguish between the personal and the professional. You have empathetic abilities, are easy to collaborate with, and have a curious and exploratory attitude.
