Your Responsibilities

You contribute to giving students increased knowledge and understanding of themselves, their opportunities, and their choices. You serve as a support for students, guardians, and are part of the student health team, while also supporting other staff in study and career guidance efforts. You work with students individually and in groups through guidance and motivating, forward-looking conversations. Your most important tool is the personal conversation, but you also conduct various information sessions and other activities designed to support students in decisions regarding their future. Being proactive and driving projects and activities forward is an important part of the role. Starting from autumn 2026, Kristiansborgsskolan will become a SAO school. In the role of study and career counselor, you will have strategic and operational responsibility for the school's SAO organization.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a university degree as a study and career counselor and a genuine interest in motivating, inspiring, and guiding students in their future study and career choices. You have good digital skills and are accustomed to using computers and other technical aids as a natural part of your daily work. If you have previous experience in study and career guidance and work within the school system, we consider this a plus. You have good pedagogical insight and the ability to adapt your working methods based on students' different needs, prerequisites, and goals. Through a clear and professional approach, you build trusting relationships and ensure that information and guidance reach students in an understandable way.

As a person, you are secure, stable, and have good self-awareness. You work independently, take responsibility for your tasks, and drive your processes forward in a structured and quality-conscious manner. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. At the same time, you have good collaboration skills and enjoy working together with colleagues, guardians, and other actors to create the best possible conditions for students' development and future choices.

Other Information

Before you can be employed, you must present a clean extract from the police's criminal record register.

In connection with the interview, you need to prove your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or alternatively a certificate of residence together with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, as required by the Aliens Ordinance.
