Our Employment Offer

Vendelsö Primary Health Care Centre is located in Haninge Municipality with good connections to central Stockholm. It takes approximately 25 minutes by bus and 20 minutes by car to reach Gullmarsplan. Approximately 40 employees work at the centre. We are a well-functioning primary health care centre with a stable workforce and few vacant positions. We have approximately 13,000 registered patients.

The centre provides interventions for patients with mild to moderate mental ill-health, mental illness, or addiction. In addition to doctors and nurses, the staff working with mental health interventions currently consists of two licensed psychologists and one licensed psychotherapist, all trained in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). We work according to the stepped care model developed at Gustavsberg Primary Health Care Centre, which we strive to adapt to local conditions. We also draw inspiration from the Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) care model. Among other things, we have a well-functioning and close collaboration with the rest of the centre's staff.

Job Description

The duties of a psychologist at our centre consist largely of assessments, counseling sessions, guided self-help, and shorter individual contacts, either through physical visits or video calls. Longer individual contacts are also offered when necessary.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Degree in Psychology.
  • Basic training in CBT.
  • Swedish language skills equivalent to at least level C1.

Merits:

  • Completed PTP (Psychologist Training Program) service and holds a psychologist license issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare. We primarily seek a licensed psychologist, but a PTP position may become relevant.
  • Experience in primary care or healthcare facilities with similar tasks, such as child and maternal health care, specialist psychiatry, or addiction care.
  • Advanced knowledge in neuropsychiatry.
  • Advanced knowledge in a specific branch within the CBT field, such as UP, TBA, ACT/FACT, MCT, etc.

Application

Applications are processed on an ongoing basis, so the position may be filled before the application deadline.

Personal Qualities

As we value the psychosocial environment at the primary health care centre, importance is also placed on personal qualities. In addition to an interest in working in primary care and good knowledge in relevant subject areas, you are expected to be open (e.g., willing to try different working methods and approaches), generous (e.g., willing to share knowledge with colleagues at the centre when needed), and receptive (e.g., willing to adapt to the needs and wishes of patients or colleagues when necessary).

The position is subject to the condition that it does not need to be reserved for internal relocation, according to current regulations.

For patient-facing work within the Stockholm County Council (SLSO):

  • A register check is applied before the decision on employment according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for register checks upon employment.
  • Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which is conducted through occupational health services prior to employment.
  • In addition to a Swedish professional license, good knowledge of the Swedish language equivalent to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required. The same requirements apply to non-licensed staff with patient contact.

Stockholm County Council (SLSO) is one of Sweden's largest healthcare providers with 11,600 employees. We offer healthcare under the auspices of Region Stockholm within psychiatry, primary care, geriatrics, ASIH, urgent care, somatic specialist care, habilitation and health, as well as assistive devices. In collaboration with Karolinska Institutet, we conduct research, education, and development. Read more about SLSO here.
