Örnsköldsvik Upper Secondary School has two school buildings, Parkskolan and Nolaskolan. A total of approximately 1,800 students study here, distributed across five university-preparatory programs, ten vocational programs, as well as introductory programs and adapted upper secondary education. Örnsköldsvik Upper Secondary School is designated as a training school, meaning that student teachers (VFU) are a regular part of the school community.

Responsibilities

You will teach vocational subjects on the Plumbing and Property program and will have overall responsibility for the student group. This includes managing the documentation and contacts associated with the role. The position involves planning, implementing, and following up on teaching in collaboration with a work team. The duties also include mentoring a number of students, which entails significant responsibility for monitoring and supporting your mentees and actively participating in student health services.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with education and experience from the plumbing and HVAC industry, or a teaching degree with a focus on plumbing/HVAC. You who wish to train as a vocational teacher within the plumbing/HVAC field are also welcome to apply. Personal suitability will be given great weight.

Those with other qualifications are also welcome to apply. In the event of employment, the position will be time-limited based on certification requirements for permanent positions.

You are a clear leader in the classroom with the ability to create structure, coherence, and good relationships. You can take initiative and work independently. We would appreciate experience in leading group processes and adapting teaching to the needs of the group and individuals.

During the interview process, we will conduct an identity check and verify citizenship. We welcome knowledge of Finnish and/or any of the Sami varieties, as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both the Finnish and Sami administrative areas.
