Do you have a commercial interest, an interest in food, and a good technical understanding? Then this is the role for you! As a Junior Product Manager, you will drive various projects within innovation and the development of the existing portfolio. At our company, the "Pågen spirit" lives in everyday life – we help each other, take responsibility, and welcome you if you have the will and passion to challenge us and make a difference.
We are looking for a Junior Product Manager with a couple of years of work experience and some form of project management experience. This is a great opportunity for you who want to make a difference and join a company where you can grow and develop.
The Role Involves
As a Junior Product Manager, you will become part of Pågen's Product Management, responsible for the product portfolio. This is a commercial and analytical product role where numbers, business understanding, and product quality are at the center. You will work in close collaboration with product development, production, marketing, sales, and other parts of the organization. The position is broad with many contact points, and you will have the opportunity to be involved in projects that both develop existing products and drive innovation forward. To succeed in the role, you need to be communicative and team-oriented, with the ability to create engagement and build strong collaborations both within and outside the team.
With a sense for taste and the bakery literally in the house, you will contribute to making our portfolio a little better every day and drive innovation projects. “Can an ingredient be swapped so that the bread becomes both tastier and more cost-effective?” is a question you may ask yourself. You will work with consumer tests, which is important work to meet consumers' needs and be the obvious choice for them.
You have a clear focus on the profitability, quality, and development of the products. The work involves a lot of numbers and analyses, always with a commercial perspective. It may involve tracking how a product performs, analyzing costs, understanding consumer insights, and contributing to decisions that make the product portfolio even stronger.
You report to our Head of Product Management Bread.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
As a Junior Product Manager, you will among other things:
Who Are You?
We are looking for you who have worked for a couple of years and want to take the next step in a role where you get to combine analysis, business, and product development. You might have a background as an agronomist, civil engineer, or economist. The most important thing is that you have an interest in food and a desire to understand what makes a product appreciated by the consumer and profitable for the business.
We believe you have:
As a person, you are curious, structured, and forward-driving. You have your own drive and enjoy taking responsibility while thriving in collaboration with others and having an easy time engaging and involving your surroundings. You are comfortable switching between details and the big picture and like when analysis leads to concrete decisions and improvements.
Good to Know
The position is a permanent full-time employment located at Pågen's headquarters in Malmö. Travel occurs to a lesser extent, primarily to the Gothenburg bakery.
As a natural part of the role, you participate in taste tests of both new product ideas and the existing assortment. Contributing to the development of products that end up on breakfast tables and coffee breaks around the country is an inspiring part of the job. No special prior knowledge in taste testing is required – but we believe that you, just like us, have a genuine love for freshly baked products.
Pågen is a family-owned company with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and short decision-making paths. Here, everyday life is eventful and the pace is high. What is baked at night is delivered the very next day, making collaboration, responsibility, and fast solution-focused decisions a natural part of the work. We meet and work together at the office every day.
