General Practitioner Specialist at Torvalla Health Centre

Region Jämtland Härjedalen is a region to look forward to and grow in. We work for development and growth in Jämtland Härjedalen and offer all residents and visitors high-quality healthcare. Our vision is good health, and we want to be a region you look forward to and grow in. Here, you work with colleagues from many professions, with both depth and breadth of competence.

Primary care in Region Jämtland Härjedalen is organizationally part of the Division Close Care, together with Ambulance, Public Dental Health, Psychiatry, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Primary care is organized into 4 close care areas, and since January 2022, primary care and ambulance care have been integrated under "Good and Close Care." Each close care area is an economic unit led by a business manager. Primary care is also responsible for the region's healthcare advice, youth clinic, and the close care ward Näva, all of which are grant-financed. The Primary Care Area has the status of a university hospital unit, meaning teaching, supervision, and education of medical students at Umeå University are part of the role.

At our health centre, we work in teams using a patient-centered approach with our registered patients. Torvalla Health Centre is located in Torvalla Centre and is staffed with nursing assistants, district nurses, a specialist in general medicine, a social worker, a psychologist, and medical secretaries. We have a Family Centre with Child Health Services (CHS) and Maternal Health Services (MHS) in the same building. Physiotherapists, rehab coordinators, and occupational therapists are also present at the health centre. A dietitian is also attached to the health centre.

Our health centre is characterized by openness and helpfulness among all professions; we want you to feel involved. We focus on a sustainable work environment. You finish work on time, and you should feel that you can manage both work and leisure time. We work based on methods that function for the operation, where close care focuses on the patient.

Job Description

In a full-time position, you will have 1,000 registered patients in your area. We are a smaller, family-like health centre where Close Care is the focus. The number of registered patients is increasing, and our general specialist needs a colleague, as well as another staff member for the health centre. Are you keen to work with us at Torvalla Health Centre? You are warmly welcome!

Our workplace has completely renovated premises with new furnishings. You have great opportunities to influence the work and methods as we are still in a startup phase. This means an opportunity for new thinking and change based on the needs of our citizens. We do this together with the rest of the health centre staff, who currently consist of a lovely group working on the further development of the operation.

We work with patient-centered care and teamwork. The registration number of 1,000 patients/full-time is in favor of increased responsibility for our most vulnerable elderly and frequent visitors. The working method also means increased opportunities for home visits and thus being able to convey security to the patients who need it most. The daily work includes clinic visits, home visits, medication reviews, infection clinic, and qualified phone and digital visits. Close cooperation with the municipality's home care and special housing is included; communication takes place electronically via LINK. Maternal and Child Health Centre, supervision, and MLU assignments may occasionally occur. Occasional on-call duties are included in the work.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with specialist competence in general medicine, Swedish licensure, and experience from primary care is required. Independent research and doctoral supervision are meritorious but not a formal requirement for the position.

You enjoy working in teams with other professions, close to the patient, and want to contribute to the development of the operation.

As a person, we see that you are positive, humble, and prefer to work solution-oriented. Furthermore, we would like you to have a structured and flexible working method. You should have good initiative, an open mind, and be open to changes within the area of operation. Requirements are placed on independent work, good interpersonal skills, good cooperation skills, and professional responsibility.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

Employment type: Permanent employment.
Duration: Permanent, start: According to agreement.

In Region Jämtland Härjedalen, our work is permeated by our core values: we create value for those we are there for, act with drive, and strive to always be perceived as reliable. Here, you have the opportunity to work in an organization where these values shape everyday life and where your work truly makes a difference.

As an employee, you have access to a wide range of benefits via our benefits portal. We care about your health and offer a fitness allowance or fitness hour. At Östersund Hospital, you can also train for free at the Zefyren gym and participate in instructor-led sessions.

Primary care is a healthcare unit within the region's health and medical care administration, where higher education for medical degrees and research are conducted. This means that all applicants must be expert-reviewed by the R&D manager before any potential employment. In light of this, the application must contain the following documents:

  • A structured CV
  • Certificate of medical degree from the university or universities where the doctor completed their basic education. This applies to doctors trained in other EU countries and in countries outside the EU.
  • Licensure certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare
  • Specialist competence certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare
  • Certificate/documentation on teaching experience and possibly other pedagogical merits.
  • If applicable, current certificate of academic degree, e.g., Doctor of Medicine or Docent, as well as date of defense and title of the thesis.
  • Documented supervisor training
  • If applicable, a complete updated publication list.
  • Possibly further documented merit regarding, for example, clinical knowledge/experience, clinical development work, leadership experience, and anything else the applicant wishes to highlight as meritorious for the sought position.

Selection and appointment may take place continuously during the advertising period, so we would appreciate it if you send in your application as soon as possible.

We have an established medium for recruitment and therefore kindly but firmly decline contact with advertisement sellers or other sellers of recruitment services.
