Psychologist at the Eating Disorders Unit – Region Jämtland Härjedalen

The Eating Disorders Unit provides evidence-based specialist psychiatric care for adults with eating disorder issues, often in combination with comorbidity. We work in a multidisciplinary team and share responsibility for assessment, treatment, follow-up, and development of care. The treatment work is based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy adapted for eating disorders (CBT-E) and can be supplemented with other evidence-based interventions based on the patient's needs.

We are in an exciting development phase. In connection with the planned move to new premises and the co-location with the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) eating disorders unit, we are developing collaboration, care chains, and teamwork regarding patients with eating disorders. Here, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of eating disorder care, together with engaged colleagues in a team where your psychological expertise is a vital part of the whole.

The Psychiatry Department covers both outpatient and inpatient care and serves patients in Jämtland County who need specialist psychiatric care. Several specialist psychiatric units are gathered within the psychiatric clinic at Östersund Hospital. This provides good conditions for close collaboration between units and professions, while also creating opportunities for internal mobility and personal development for you as an employee. In total, approximately 270 employees work within the area.

Do you want to become part of Region Jämtland Härjedalen, a region to look forward to and grow in? Here, you contribute to development and growth throughout the county and work to offer the best possible service, care, and support for everyone living in or visiting the region.

We offer a work environment characterized by collaboration, participation, and engagement, where both breadth and specialized competence are valued. Here, you have the opportunity to develop in your role, whether you are new to the profession or have extensive experience.

Responsibilities

As a psychologist at the Eating Disorders Unit, you work in specialist psychiatric outpatient care and are involved in the entire patient care process: from assessment and care planning to treatment, coordination, and follow-up. You meet adult patients with eating disorder issues, often in combination with comorbidity, and work together with the team based on evidence-based practice, with CBT-E as the common treatment foundation. Interventions are provided individually and in groups, both physically and digitally. In addition to outpatient treatment, the unit offers enhanced outpatient care with more intensive and treatment-oriented interventions. The work includes close collaboration with inpatient care, the BUP eating disorders unit, and other healthcare providers, focusing on good coordination, continuity, and secure transitions for the patient.

You will also become an important part of the eating disorder team and the unit's continued development. Together with colleagues in the team, you contribute to further developing working methods, care forms, and collaboration, helping to shape an eating disorder care that meets the patients' needs.

Examples of tasks:

  • Assessment, care planning, and follow-up of interventions
  • Implementation of treatment interventions based on evidence-based practice, with CBT-E as the foundation
  • Individual treatment, group treatment, and digital treatment elements
  • Practical and treatment-oriented moments, such as meal-related interventions and work related to day care/enhanced outpatient care
  • Participation in teamwork, treatment conferences, and coordination with other healthcare providers and actors as needed
  • Documentation in medical records and administrative tasks related to patient work
  • Participation in quality and development work

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist and want to work in a structured and evidence-based manner in specialist psychiatric operations. You have good experience with psychological assessment and treatment and thrive in multidisciplinary teamwork with patients who often have complex issues and comorbidity.

You are confident in your professional role, have good collaboration skills, and contribute to a good team climate. You have the ability to create a treatment alliance, make independent assessments, and at the same time be an active part of the joint development work. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • Licensure as a psychologist
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing, including medical record documentation

Merits:

  • Experience working with eating disorder issues and comorbidity
  • Education in and/or experience with CBT-E or other evidence-based methods relevant to eating disorder treatment
  • Experience with psychological assessment and treatment within specialist psychiatry or related operations
  • Experience with quality, improvement, or operational development
