We are looking for an engaged and confident preschool teacher (barnskötare) for a temporary position at Skogsgården Preschool from August to December 2026, 65–100%. There may be an opportunity for extension.

About Us

Skogsgården Preschool is located in Torvalla, Östersund Municipality, and consists of four units with mixed-age groups of children. The preschool has a nature-friendly location with proximity to forests, ski tracks, and pleasant walking paths.

Our prioritized development areas are language-developing approaches and working methods, as well as leadership at all levels. To create a shared understanding of the curriculum's mission and strengthen systematic quality work, we work based on a pedagogical annual wheel. We also collaborate with Kronan Preschool to promote collegial learning and experience sharing.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning, implementation, and follow-up based on the curriculum.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and educational environment where children's development and learning are stimulated through play, care, and teaching.
• Be a present educator who builds good relationships with children, guardians, and colleagues.
• Participate in the preschool's daily routines and contribute to the development of the pedagogical work together with the work team.

Requirements

• Trained preschool teacher (barnskötare).
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both oral and written.
• Understanding of the preschool's governing documents and the ability to apply them in daily work.

Merits

• Experience working in a preschool.
• Good computer skills.
• Experience with digital systems such as Unikum, Tempus, or Teams.

We are looking for you

We are now looking for a trained preschool teacher for Skogsgården Preschool starting autumn 2025.

As a preschool teacher here, you will have a shared position during the autumn, with 50 percent in one unit and 15 percent in another. There is also an opportunity to expand the position to 100 percent, where part of the position involves work in the house pool.

You will become part of a work team where you together plan, implement, and are responsible for the children's education and development. In your work, you are present and focus on the meeting with each child. You understand the importance of creating good relationships between children and children, children and adults, and adults among themselves.

We are looking for you who have a good understanding of people's differences and who meet both children, guardians, and colleagues in a listening, respectful, and professional manner. You actively contribute to a safe, inclusive, and developmental learning environment where every child is given the opportunity to grow and develop based on their prerequisites. You show clear leadership, have good pedagogical insight, and cooperate well with others.
