About the position

The Intensive Care Unit in Huddinge is part of the Perioperative Medicine and Intensive Care Function (PMI). In our functional premises, we care for patients of all ages, including very small children.

As an intensive care nurse with us, you care for patients with advanced hematological, hepatological, and cardiological conditions, as well as complicated infections. We also care for a large flow of patients who have undergone upper gastrointestinal surgery, handle all of Stockholm's acute ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) flow, and conduct very advanced pediatric intensive care after liver transplants. These are some of our nationally highly specialized care assignments. Another nationally highly specialized care assignment we have is the care of patients with high-risk infections.

Since we are a university hospital and education is one of our assignments, you will in your role guide and educate students and colleagues in various ways. We have a model for practice-based education where we work systematically with guidance of interprofessional teams.

There is an opportunity to join cross-professional development teams with doctors, nurses, and assistant nurses, focusing on improving nursing care in areas such as respiration, pain, and pediatrics.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Registered nurse with specialist education in intensive care.
• At least 2 years of experience.

The Perioperative Medicine and Intensive Care Function is the hospital's combined resource for anesthesia, surgery, pre- and postoperative care, as well as intensive care for adults.
