About the Job

As a System Engineer specializing in Linux servers, you will operate, monitor, maintain, and administer servers within the team's area of responsibility. The Infrastructure and Operations unit is currently undergoing change to meet future needs, both organizationally and in the field of IT operations. Therefore, we are looking for you who want to further develop our server operations and build up the agency's operational organization to handle larger internal operational tasks in the future.

We are a large IT department with approximately 450 employees, which gives you the opportunity to focus on the issues you are best at, as well as to exchange experiences and competence with other experienced employees in all areas.

You will

  • be part of a competent team and have the opportunity to help shape the agency's server operations
  • operate, maintain, and administer servers within the team's area of responsibility
  • install, configure, and troubleshoot systems in our IT environment
  • optimize and develop systems proactively
  • act as a specialist/expert support within your area of responsibility and participate in various projects.

Weekly on-call duty according to a rolling schedule may become relevant.

You must have

  • education in IT or equivalent knowledge acquired through work experience that we assess as equivalent
  • several years of current work experience as a system engineer in the operation of Linux servers
  • good knowledge of Red Hat (RHEL) or Ubuntu
  • experience working in organizations with large technical environments in complex system landscapes
  • good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

It is an advantage if you also have

  • experience in system administration
  • experience/knowledge of scripting and automation with Ansible
  • work experience and good knowledge of Windows server
  • experience/knowledge of container technology, e.g., Kubernetes or Docker.

More Information

The position is permanent with placement in Örebro. Appointment according to agreement. We normally apply a probationary period. A position with us may involve security clearance. A security investigation with register check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted. For some of our security-classified tasks, Swedish citizenship is required.
