Job Description

At AFRY, we currently have approximately 15 inspection engineers within the areas of fire alarms, water sprinklers, and voice evacuation systems, located from Sundsvall in the north to Malmö in the south.

In Norrland, we currently operate as a Service Area consisting of 5 inspection engineers within the areas of fire alarms, water sprinklers, and voice evacuation systems. The team manager is based in Gävle and is also responsible for inspection activities nationwide. We conduct regular reviews within our service area, nationally, and all inspection engineers meet annually for knowledge exchange.

In this role, you plan and carry out delivery and revision inspections of fire alarms and other fire protection systems within your field of expertise. We work with all types of clients within commercial and industrial properties, as well as municipalities, regions, and state-owned properties. We are looking for you who want to work with fire alarm inspections, but it is also an advantage if you have experience with water sprinklers, voice evacuation systems, or gas suppression systems and can act as an inspection engineer in these areas. You will build a customer base in northern Norrland and perform inspections of fire protection systems on a full-time basis, but will also have the opportunity to combine the inspection engineer role with design or project management.

Initially, the position may involve travel to other inspection engineers in the country if you are not yet a fully qualified inspection engineer. Within AFRY, we offer further education to become an inspection engineer and therefore have the opportunity to help with the next step in your career!

The position covers northern Norrland, and we are looking for you who want to be based at one of our offices in Umeå, Luleå, Skellefteå, Östersund, Boden, or Piteå. The work is free and varied, and you plan your working days yourself together with your customers. You will be stationed at one of AFRY's offices but have the possibility to work from home.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have broad and thorough knowledge within the field of fire alarms and/or water sprinklers. We would like you to be active as an approved inspection engineer for fire alarms and/or sprinkler systems in a company that is a certified inspection firm for fire protection systems.

If you currently work with fire alarm systems or water sprinklers and have good knowledge within the field but do not have inspection experience, you are still welcome to contact us.

It is of extra interest to us if you are a qualified engineer in the field and are well-versed in the regulations of the Swedish Fire Protection Association (Svenska Brandskyddsföreningen) and have very good knowledge within the area.

Within AFRY, we offer further education to become an inspection engineer and therefore have the opportunity to help with the next step in your career!

You have a relevant upper secondary education or further education.

We believe you are a person who finds it easy to collaborate with other people. You enjoy driving your own work and are outgoing. You are open and receptive with a clear customer focus and find it easy to create new contacts and understand what the consultant role entails. You have very good knowledge of Swedish and good knowledge of English, as well as a B driver's license.

Additional Information

AFRY is ranked as one of Sweden's most popular employers among engineers. With us, you help develop innovative and sustainable solutions within infrastructure, energy, and industry. We offer a workplace with forward momentum and security through collective agreements and employee benefits such as flextime and full pay during parental leave, among others, for all our employees.

Welcome to apply, the last day for applications is 2026-07-31. Do not wait to submit your application, as the position may be filled before the last application day.

We are heading into the summer season, and it may take a little longer than usual before we get back to you.
