A Swedish government agency is seeking an experienced and proactive leader for an interim position as Head of Department for the Accreditation Division, based in Borås. In this interim role, you will have the opportunity to lead the agency's accreditation division during a transition period. Your task is to ensure delivery, stability, and high quality in operations while driving development, leadership, and digitalization/AI adaptation until the permanent manager takes over.

As Head of Department, you are responsible for leading a division with approximately 60 permanent employees and 250 procured technical experts. Your task is to ensure that the division continues to deliver with high quality, while driving change and modernization at a time when digitalization and AI are becoming increasingly important.

You will be the line manager for four unit managers and staff functions, and will be part of the agency's management team with direct reporting to the Acting Director General. Your role is to lead with clarity, integrity, and courage, being fearless in change and creating conditions for employees to succeed.

Qualifications

• Is proactive, dares to make decisions, challenges established patterns, and leads the business towards new ways of working, particularly through digitalization and AI.
• Has experience leading managers as well as business development, strategic planning, and budgeting.
• Understands the mission and conditions of the public sector; experience from the public sector is an advantage.
• Can lead managers with the ability to be clear in expectations as an employer representative and to motivate and develop employees in an organization undergoing change.
• Has a strategic approach to digitalization and AI, with an interest in how new technologies can streamline and improve operations, and to drive development forward.
• Has a relevant higher education/university degree for the assignment.
