We are now looking for a Platform Engineer who wants to help build the development platform of the future for secure, efficient, and scalable software delivery.

You will have the chance to help build a strategically important platform from the ground up and influence how future software development is conducted within Aeronautics.

Your role

As a Platform Engineer, you will be a key person in the development of the Aeronautics Cloud Platform. You will contribute to the development of our future platform, which includes both Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) based on OpenStack and the building of modern PaaS and SaaS services.

We work with a platform mindset where development teams are our users. Through self-service, automation, and reusable platform services, we create the prerequisites for faster, safer, and more efficient software development.

You will become part of a small and engaged team where you will have the opportunity to influence architecture, technology choices, and working methods while the platform is being built and developed.

In the role, you will among other things:

• Build, develop, and maintain our OpenStack-based IaaS platform.
• Develop platform services for development teams with a focus on self-service, automation, and Developer Experience.
• Design and maintain CI/CD flows and work with GitOps principles.
• Automate infrastructure and platform services using Terraform, Ansible, and other IaC tools.
• Develop and manage container-based platforms using Kubernetes and Docker.
• Contribute to the platform's observability, security, and compliance capabilities.
• Collaborate closely with development teams and act as a technical advisor within Platform Engineering and DevOps.

Your profile

We are looking for you who have experience in building, automating, and managing modern platforms and development environments.

We believe you have:

• Experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or a similar field.
• Good experience with Linux and automation using tools such as Bash or Python.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or other container platforms.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent IaC tools.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, and modern development and delivery processes.
• Experience working closely with development activities in agile teams.
• Understanding of security, risk, and compliance issues in modern platform environments.
• An interest in automation, platform development, and developer experience.

Meritorious experience

• Experience with OpenStack, Ceph, or other private cloud and virtualization platforms.
• Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux.
• Experience with DevSecOps, observability, or Internal Developer Platforms (IDP).
• Experience working in larger organizations with high demands for security and quality.
