The Municipal Executive Office consists of finance, HR, the secretariat, and the development department, which provide cross-functional support services. RESPONSIBILITIES
Are you a communicative and driven person who wants to work with strategic security and crime prevention issues? Are you attracted to having a key role where you collaborate with colleagues, the police, and civil society? Then we may be looking for you at Svalöv Municipality!
As a Security and Safety Coordinator, you play a central and municipality-wide role in our crime prevention and safety-enhancing work. Your main task is to hold together and drive the municipality's crime prevention work forward in accordance with the statutory responsibilities municipalities have. In a smaller municipality, this often involves varied work where you move between overarching strategic policies and concrete, operational measures in daily life. These issues are current and highly prioritized by both political and administrative leadership.
You report to the Head of Secretariat but also have direct contact with the Municipal Manager, sector managers, and municipal councilors. The position is located at the Municipal Executive Office's secretariat, in a group with three other staff members who mainly work with emergency preparedness issues. You will also be part of the crisis management function.
Your main responsibilities
- Crime Prevention Coordination: Lead, develop, and follow up on the municipality's crime prevention work in accordance with current legislation and adopted steering documents.
- Situation Analysis: Compile and analyze local situation reports together with the Police and other authorities to implement the right measures in the right places.
- Network and Collaboration: Serve as the municipality's contact person towards the police, rescue services, civil society, and business life.
- Safety Measures: Initiate and lead safety dialogues and drive other local projects.
- Crisis Preparedness and Security: Support the municipality's managers in systematic security work, risk and vulnerability analyses, and during potential crises.
- Fire Protection: Coordinate and support operators regarding systematic fire protection.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who find it easy to build trusting relationships and who are good at getting different actors to pull in the same direction.
Qualifications:
- Relevant university degree in fields such as criminology, political science, law, sociology, or other education assessed as equivalent by the employer.
- Experience working with safety and security issues, preferably from a municipality or other public sector organization.
- Good understanding of crime prevention work and collaboration with the police.
- Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
Merits:
- Experience in creating and working with structured situation reports.
- Knowledge of crisis preparedness and security protection.
- Experience leading networks or project groups.
- Experience working in politically governed municipalities.
