At Region Dalarna, you will find meaningful work where you can make a difference. Together, we work towards a sustainable Dalarna with development potential in all parts of the county.
About the Department
The Women's Clinic in Falun is the county's only maternity clinic, where 2,198 babies were born in 2025. The clinic consists of a labor ward, antenatal ward, postnatal ward (BB), BB clinic, postpartum clinic, gynecological ward, gynecological clinic, a patient hotel, and counseling services.
Job Responsibilities
You will primarily work as a midwife on the labor ward, with rotation to the postnatal ward (BB) and gynecology. The BB/gynecology ward is a shared care unit where we care for newly delivered women, newborns, and patients with gynecological needs. Here, we work evidence-based to provide safe, secure, and person-centered care – with the expectant and new family in focus. We celebrate health in both normal and complicated labor processes. Our collaboration with the neonatal unit is close.
On the labor ward, you work in a team with nursing assistants and doctors – the goal is always that every family receives the care they need. The BB ward is a medical postnatal care unit. Healthy mothers and babies often stay at the patient hotel or go home early, with follow-up occurring via our postpartum clinic.
As a midwife with us, you provide support and care during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum – both in normal and abnormal conditions. You are also responsible for the care of the newborn, breastfeeding counseling, and promoting parenthood.

- have supervision training and/or experience supervising students or new colleagues
We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in working with women and families during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum.
