At Region Dalarna, you will find meaningful work where you can make a difference. Together, we work towards a sustainable Dalarna with development potential in all parts of the county.
About the DepartmentOn the neonatal unit, we work in modern facilities where children and parents are cared for together. We collaborate closely with the maternity ward and newborn unit. Furthermore, we have county-wide responsibility for the care of all sick or premature newborns in Dalarna. We provide light care and intensive care across the unit's 12 beds, as well as outpatient services. Together, we offer high-quality care for all birthing families in Dalarna. Here, you have the opportunity to help develop the future of neonatal care in Dalarna.
Job ResponsibilitiesAs a nurse, you are responsible for the care of the child/family, with child- and family-centered developmental support care as the foundation. You work in a team with, among others, pediatric nurses, assistant nurses, doctors, counselors, dietitians, and physiotherapists. We work purposefully and systematically with nursing development and competence development. Rotation shift work (day/evening/night) 100%, with the possibility of part-time. Individual Onboarding: It is important that you feel safe and secure in your work. With us, you receive a tailored onboarding program lasting 10 weeks. During your first period as a nurse, you will be responsible for fewer patients.
Foundation Year: We have a structured internal training program with allocated time for lectures on neonatal nursing, neonatal conditions, medical technology, practical exercises, etc.
We apply individual scheduling. You must be able to work days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Region Dalarna's on-call allowance for night work is higher than the national agreement, along with a lower weekly working time for night shifts. The neonatal unit is part of the Department of Child and Adolescent Medicine, where we support each other across unit boundaries. After appropriate onboarding, some work may also take place on the pediatric ward. As first-line managers for the Neonatal Unit, we emphasize that everyone is part of a team. This means you should feel confident that you can receive support from us, as well as from your colleagues. We discuss, help, and support each other daily, which is important for us all to do good work and develop, but also to make coming to work enjoyable.
