Avestahälsan Health Center has been in operation since 2012 and currently has nearly 8,000 registered patients. We have a team of approximately 35 employees, including district physicians, ST (specialization training) doctors, AT (internship) doctors, BT (basic training) doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, midwives, child health nurses, district nurses, and general nurses with various specializations, counseling nurses, medical secretaries, psychotherapists, assistant nurses, and cleaners.

We are a privately owned health center with a healthcare choice agreement with Region Dalarna. For the individual patient, this means the exact same conditions, healthcare guarantees, and fees apply as at a publicly run health center. Avestahälsan operates solely in Avesta but has many registered patients from surrounding municipalities in both southern Dalarna and northern Västmanland.

Our premises were expanded and renovated in 2021 and are well adapted for our operations. We share the building with Avestahälsan Occupational Health.

SPECIALIST DOCTOR IN GENERAL PRACTICE

At Avestahälsan Health Center, you will work with a fantastic group of doctors! There are five specialist doctors in general practice (one of whom is on parental leave) with varying full-time equivalents, 4 ST doctors, 2-3 AT doctors, and 0-1 BT doctor. Together, we care for nearly 8,000 registered patients, including approximately 800 who live outside the county. The specialist doctors and ST doctors have their own patient lists, but everyone also contributes to acute and sub-acute appointments for all patients. AT and BT doctors do not have their own patient lists. We have a maximum list size of 1,600 per full-time equivalent, but currently, specialist doctors have approximately 1,400 - 1,500 patients per full-time equivalent, which has gradually decreased over time. We actively work to ensure that the healthcare choice model in the region makes it possible to reach down to 1,100 patients per full-time equivalent.

At Avestahälsan Health Center, we are constantly striving to improve and develop our operations. We work in a team-based manner and strive for high continuity. Competence development is planned based on your individual needs and the needs of the operation. We have allocated time for further education and a training policy even for specialist doctors. There are good opportunities to have your own area of responsibility based on the needs of the operation and your specific experience and competence.

We wish to expand our group of doctors with one more specialist doctor at 75-100% to better prepare ourselves for the present and future.
