Tanum Municipality is now looking for one or two dedicated part-time youth workers for our mobile youth club. This position is suitable for you if you are a youth worker or if you are studying, for example, to become a youth worker, social worker, teacher, behavioral scientist, or within another pedagogical or social education program – and if you want to combine your studies with practical experience in youth work.

The mobile youth club is a flexible and outreach-based activity that meets young people where they are – in different parts of the municipality, at meeting places, during activities, and at events. Now we want to develop this activity together with you!

About the position

We are looking for one or two people for part-time employment, totaling approximately 50%. The scope of the position can therefore be distributed between two people or appointed as a larger position depending on the applicant's wishes and the needs of the activity. The position(s) are permanent.

The work is mainly scheduled for afternoons, evenings, and sometimes weekends.

About the activity

We offer open, drug-free, and safe meeting places where youth workers are close to the young people – in conversations, in laughter, in what hurts, and in what grows. We work to create environments where young people feel seen, included, and significant.

The municipality has youth clubs in Tanumshede, Bullaren, and Hamburgsund, as well as a motorbike park in Hamburgsund. This now includes the development of the mobile youth club. The youth clubs in Hamburgsund and Tanum are located adjacent to the lower secondary schools, and the target group is mainly young people in grade 6 as well as lower secondary and upper secondary school age. During holidays, we also work with younger target groups.

The overarching goal of the activity is to strengthen young people's personal and social development. We work from a clear value basis based on human rights, the equal value of all, and a norm-critical and inclusive approach. Through presence and an active outreach working method, we capture ideas, needs, and initiatives – and make them possible.

We are part of the KEKS network (Quality and competence in collaboration) and work with a strong focus on participation and influence, where young people's voices get a real place.

Responsibilities

As a youth worker in the mobile youth club, you will:

• Help develop the content and working methods of the mobile youth club
• Plan and carry out activities for children and young people
• Create safe and inclusive meeting places
• Work in an outreach and relationship-building manner
• Encourage young people's own ideas and initiatives
• Collaborate with colleagues, associations, and other actors in the municipality
• Contribute to safe, gender-equal, and inclusive youth work

We are looking for you who

Studies youth worker education, social work, pedagogy, or similar. Has or works as a youth worker today. Is interested in working with children and young people. Is responsible, secure, and good at building relationships. Has good cooperation skills but can also work independently. Has commitment to young people's participation and safety. Has a B driver's license and access to a private car.
