The Department of Child and Adolescent Medicine has three inpatient wards and additional day-care facilities for children and adolescents up to 18 years of age. The medical specialties are primarily pediatrics, surgery, orthopedics, and ENT (ear, nose, and throat) diseases. The Pediatric Emergency Department receives children and adolescents with acute medical conditions around the clock. Ambulance calls with priority levels two to four are also received at the Pediatric Emergency Department.

DUTIES

We are now welcoming two nursing assistants to our department.

As a nursing assistant here, you and your colleagues share a common responsibility for ensuring the patient receives the basic and specific care required. In addition to direct patient work, which includes sample collection and assistance during certain examinations, you will also have the opportunity and space to take care of various areas of responsibility on the ward. Our goal is to provide good and safe care and to always start from the patient's needs through close teamwork, and you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of care and the department. Your duties include close collaboration with nurses. You should be independent and able to take initiatives that drive our operations forward.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are trained as a nursing assistant and meet the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for a protected professional title, regardless of whether you studied under the previous or current program structure. Good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are required. Experience working in a pediatric emergency department is advantageous. Previous work with children in healthcare is also an advantage.

To succeed in the role, it is important that you put the patient at the center. We see that you have good cooperation skills and are curious and solution-focused. As a person, you are responsible and mature, as well as communicative and receptive. You should have experience and interest in working both independently and cross-team. We are keen on finding the right person and therefore place great emphasis on personal suitability.

If you have not yet received your proof of protected professional title, grades (not just a diploma) from your nursing assistant education must be attached. If you were employed permanently as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023, and lack proof, attach your employment certificate as well as your grades (not just a diploma) from your nursing assistant education. If you do not have the proof, you may be employed as a care assistant on a fixed-term basis while waiting for the proof.
