Regional Laboratory Medicine belongs to Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Area 4, and has a clear coordination mandate for the entire Region of Västra Götaland. The organization consists of the laboratory medicine operations at Södra Älvsborg Hospital, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Hospitals in the West, and NU Hospital Group.

About the Operation

The Pathology Laboratory in Borås is a developing operation focused on digitalization in diagnostics. Around 34 employees from various professions work here, including biomedical analysts, laboratory assistants, cytodiagnosticians, medical secretaries, pathologists, and autopsy technicians. We work closely together and value good collaboration, participation, and a good working environment.

About the Position

Do you want to develop your competence within laboratory operations? We now offer a varied and educational position as a laboratory technician where you get the opportunity to work broadly in both practical and administrative areas. The position suits you if you thrive in a role with great variation and want to contribute to an important and socially beneficial operation.

Responsibilities

In the role of laboratory technician, you will work with a broad spectrum of tasks. You are responsible for the registration and handling of samples, for example within cytology and pathology, and participate in preparation and other stages of the laboratory process. The work also includes administrative tasks, archiving, and logistics related to the operation. You will also have frequent contact with colleagues and external parties both on-site, via email, and by phone.

Furthermore, the role includes receiving and handing over deceased persons to funeral contractors, as well as handling administrative tasks related to mortuary operations.

About the Role

We are looking for you who are a qualified nurse assistant with a professional certificate and have an interest in laboratory operations. Previous work experience from laboratory operations is an advantage. You work in a structured and meticulous manner, thrive in a role with varying tasks, and have a professional demeanor with good collaboration skills.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability. Since the work involves contact with various parties, it is important that you have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
