Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Region of Västra Götaland and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Community Hospital, Högsbo Community Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. At Medicine Ward 4, you will meet patients with everything from acute medical conditions and infections to heart, lung, and surgical issues. The breadth ensures that no two days are alike and that you quickly develop strong clinical competence.

We are a relatively young operation that is still developing. This means you will have the opportunity to influence working methods, routines, and future development, while receiving support from experienced colleagues and a clear ambition to create a safe and learning work environment.

We have a senior nurse function with clear clinical presence in everyday life. The function is part of our systematic work with patient safety, learning, and competence development, providing security for new colleagues and support and deepening for more experienced nurses.

This is Medicine Ward 4

Medicine Ward 4 is a broad internal medicine ward with 28 care beds where acute care and inpatient care collaborate. The ward includes both the Acute Care Ward (AVA) and traditional medical inpatient care, creating a unique breadth and variation in daily work.

We care for patients with a large spectrum of medical and, at the AVA, also surgical diagnoses. Many patients are early in their care journey and require careful clinical assessments, observations, and quick decisions, while others need continued medical treatment and nursing care.

This allows you as a nurse to develop both your acute competence and your ability to plan and coordinate care over time.

The work is characterized by variation, flexibility, and the opportunity to gradually broaden or deepen your competence based on interest and experience.

An operation in constant development

Development is a natural part of our daily life. We continuously work to improve patient flows, working methods, and competence development to meet future healthcare needs.

We also have close cooperation with the hospital's other medical operations, including HIA and IMA, which creates good opportunities to broaden and deepen your competence within several different levels of care.

Here, you should be able to grow in your profession without having to leave the operation.

Your role as a nurse

Here, you work in a team together with doctors, assistant nurses, and a senior nurse, in person-centered care with a focus on quality, patient safety, and good collaboration.

The work is characterized by:

• Acute and sub-acute care flows
• Medical assessments and observations
• Rapid care processes where the right decision at the right time is crucial
• Nursing care for patients with complex care needs
• Teamwork with shared responsibility for planning, implementation, and follow-up of care

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse and who:

You can be newly graduated or have several years of experience.
