What we offer you!

During school hours, you will assist students in the school libraries. Together with teachers, you will work on developing students' ability to search for relevant knowledge, as well as to reflect on and critically examine it. Through your expertise, you strengthen students' learning and reading skills in all subjects.

As a school librarian, your main area of responsibility is the library operations at the school. This involves standard tasks within a school library. You serve as a support for teachers and collaborate on education regarding source criticism and Media and Information Literacy (MIL). You are responsible for the library premises and work to shape them to create the conditions for a safe study environment.

Your duties include purchasing and handling media. In addition to supporting students in achieving their goals, you actively work with reading promotion and the development of students' Media and Information Literacy (MIL).

You, as a candidate, should be interested in working with and developing our school libraries into a valuable resource for the school's combined pedagogical mission. Your efforts will not be limited to the library; you will also work with students in the classrooms.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are a trained librarian with a degree in Library and Information Science or another education that the employer deems equivalent. Experience of library work, as well as other work unrelated to schools or libraries, is considered meritorious. Knowledge of library administrative systems is desirable. You have good computer skills, enjoy learning new technology, and utilizing its possibilities. You like to manage and plan your daily work but must also be flexible and able to meet unexpected challenges. You express yourself clearly and correctly in speech and writing. You are solution-focused, have good collaboration skills, and enjoy testing new paths.

As a librarian, you have the student's best interests in focus and can independently use your theoretical knowledge and previous experience in collaboration with other school staff. We expect you to have good collaboration skills towards students, guardians, and employees.

You need to have a B driving license and access to your own car.
