About SVA
Dangerous animal diseases can have serious consequences for animals, humans, the economy, and food supply. The National Veterinary Institute (SVA) is an expert and emergency preparedness authority that contributes to good animal health and reduced disease transmission between animals and humans through diagnostics, research, and expert knowledge. SVA is part of the emergency preparedness sector for Food Supply and Drinking Water. Healthy animals – secure people.
The position is located within the Department of Digitalization, Infrastructure and Security (DIS). The department is responsible for digitalization and IT (support, operations, IT security, and development), property issues regarding both development and management, logistics and internal services, as well as security and civil defense matters.
Property and Technology (FAS) is responsible for the authority's local planning, property management, tenant adaptations, and provides technical support for the operation and maintenance of all premises and special facilities such as security laboratories and incinerators. Additionally, technical support is provided to all sections.
Do you want to help develop future laboratory and operational environments in a socially vital organization? We are now looking for two local planners who want to be part of the process as operations ramp up and develop both existing and future facility solutions. The positions share the same core responsibilities, but duties and focus areas can be adapted to some extent based on experience, competence, and operational needs.
In this role, you will have a central position where you drive and coordinate projects in technically advanced environments. The role suits you if you are self-motivated, proactive, and thrive working closely with both internal operations and external actors.
Your future responsibilities
As a local planner, you are responsible for planning, coordinating, and driving facility adaptations and technical projects in advanced operational and laboratory environments.
The role covers the entire chain, from needs analysis and requirement specification to implementation, follow-up, and handover. You work closely with operations to understand needs and translate them into functional, safe, and sustainable facility solutions.
The work involves among other things:
- Planning facility adaptations in technically advanced environments
- Developing requirement specifications and technical documentation
- Acting as the client towards property owners, contractors, consultants, and suppliers
- Driving and coordinating various technical areas such as ventilation, supply systems, and building installations
- Following up, documenting, coordinating, and ensuring that projects are carried out according to operational requirements
- Participating in the development of future facility solutions and property projects
You will work in environments with high demands on security, functionality, and technical precision, where understanding laboratory operations and complex installations is an important part of the assignment.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- A degree in engineering or university college studies in a relevant field for the position, or alternatively other experience deemed equivalent by the employer
- Several years of experience in project management within construction, property, or technical installations
- Experience working in qualified or technically demanding environments
- Good ability to develop requirement specifications and drive issues towards property owners, contractors, consultants, and suppliers
- Good knowledge of construction processes, property matters, and relevant legal requirements
- Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
- Swedish citizenship

Merits
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience with laboratory environments or advanced laboratory buildings
- Knowledge of biohazards and security-classified environments, for example, Biosafety Level 3 laboratories
- Experience from public sector operations
- Experience with major procurement processes
- Good knowledge of English

- Employment type: Permanent full-time (100%). We apply a 6-month initial probationary period.

The position is security-classified, which means a security clearance check will be conducted prior to employment. The security clearance includes a register check and a security interview in accordance with the Security Protection Act.
