Job Description

As a Project Manager with us, you are responsible for independently planning, leading, and executing construction projects for schools, preschools, and care facilities – from early concept to final delivery. In this role, we are specifically looking for you who are senior in your professional role and want to take greater responsibility, which includes handling parts of the maintenance follow-up and supporting and developing less experienced colleagues in the organization.

You have overall responsibility for your projects and work in accordance with our established processes and our business idea: to develop and manage school and care facilities that contribute to development and well-being. You report to the Unit Manager Projects and are part of an engaged project organization.

Your main tasks include leading, planning, and steering construction projects in all stages, from preliminary studies to production and completion. You have overall result and budget responsibility throughout the entire project process and work actively with financial control and continuous reporting to the Unit Manager Projects and project economist. The role includes leading and coordinating external consultants as well as identifying, managing, and following up on risks and opportunities in the projects.

You are responsible for ensuring that the quality of the projects and requirements regarding environment and working environment meet both legal requirements and the company's guidelines. Furthermore, you handle calls via framework agreements and are responsible for requirement setting in procurement according to LOU (Public Procurement Act). You collaborate with authorities and external administrations and have a special responsibility for the planning, prioritization, and follow-up of parts of the company's maintenance follow-up.

The role also includes acting as a support and sounding board for less experienced project managers and contributing to competence development within the team. You actively participate in the development of working methods, routines, and processes within the project unit and contribute to cross-functional collaborations within the company.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have relevant higher education in construction, real estate, or equivalent long-term experience. The position requires several years of experience in independently leading complex construction projects. Good knowledge of project management, economy, and procurement is important. Previous experience of working in or for the public sector is meritorious. Experience in mentoring or supporting colleagues in project work is seen as advantageous. Experience with LOU is also considered meritorious. Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is a prerequisite for the position.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
