Special Needs Teacher, Swedish (Grades 1-3) – Brandbergsskolan

Do you want to help develop future reading and writing instruction while making a real difference for every student?

Brandbergsskolan is now looking for an engaged special needs teacher for the lower primary grades (Grades 1-3) with a focus on reading and writing development.

About Us

Brandbergsskolan is a Grades 1-9 school in Haninge characterized by high engagement, strong cohesion, and a clear focus on student safety and learning. We work systematically to develop teaching so that all students can succeed.

The Role

As a special needs teacher in the lower primary grades, you will:

  • Work closely with classroom teachers to develop reading and writing instruction.
  • Plan and conduct individual or group teaching sessions.
  • Conduct assessments, analyses, and interventions at the individual, group, and organizational levels.
  • Be a key figure in our work with early interventions.
  • Contribute to implementing and developing our work with Phonics (sound-based instruction) and RTI (Response to Intervention).
  • Mentor and support colleagues in teaching and adaptations.
  • Be an active member of the school's Student Health Team (SHT).
  • Be part of a strong special educational needs team.

We are looking for someone who

  • Is a certified special needs teacher specializing in reading and writing instruction.
  • Has experience working in lower primary grades.
  • Has a particular interest in reading and writing acquisition.
  • Is curious about and wants to develop within Phonics and RTI.
  • Thrives in working close to teaching and in collegial collaboration.
  • Approaches work from a relational perspective.
