One of our colleagues is moving on to new challenges. We are now looking for a successor to this key role in Visit Skåne's continued work to develop, attract, and strengthen sports events in Scania.

At Visit Skåne, you will have the opportunity to work strategically and operationally at the intersection of sustainable place and destination development and profile-building sports events. Together with engaged colleagues, the events team, and strong partnerships, you will drive the work to position Scania as an attractive, sustainable, and competitive location for future sports events.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Sports Developer, you work to initiate, develop, and enable investments that create value far beyond the sports event itself. The role involves close collaboration with actors such as local clubs, sports federations, rights holders, municipalities, and other regional, national, and international actors.

You drive processes from idea and attraction to development and long-term effects. The focus is on contributing to the creation of events that strengthen Scania's attractiveness, contribute to sustainable growth, and leave positive footprints for the place, the people, and the business community.

In the role, you are responsible for:

• Driving and developing Visit Skåne's work on attracting and developing sports events
• Contributing to implementing and further developing the company's strategic work in the events sector
• Identifying trends, opportunities, and future needs through environmental scanning and analysis
• Building and developing long-term relationships with partners locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally
• Working actively with sustainability and legacy to ensure that events contribute to positive societal development and long-term value creation
• Contributing to strengthening Scania's position as an internationally attractive location for sustainable sports events
• Leading and coordinating processes where many actors meet and interests need to be balanced

Travel within Sweden and internationally is included in the position.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who combine strategic height with strong execution power. You are relationship-building, curious, and thrive in a role where you get to create progress together with others.

For the role, it is required that you have relevant post-secondary education as well as several years of documented experience working with strategic development, attraction, or implementation of sports events. You have a good understanding of the sports ecosystem and a broad and well-established network that you actively use in your work. You have extensive experience driving projects and processes in collaboration with many different stakeholders, both internally and externally, and you thrive in a role where you navigate between different perspectives and needs. You communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

Experience in international contexts, place/destination development, or sustainability work related to events is meritorious.

You are a confident leader, both in leading others and in leading yourself, and you take responsibility for driving the work forward with engagement and structure. Your experience in strategic development work allows you to seamlessly switch between analysis, business development, relationship building, and practical implementation. Furthermore, you have a clear results focus and the ability to prioritize and deliver in complex contexts.
