The Elderly Sector in Kil Municipality is responsible for elderly care. The sector is also responsible for the provision of all municipal health and medical care, rehabilitation, memory teams, day activities, and support for relatives.

Nurses in supported living and short-term care are based at our new facility, Grinnemo.

Nurses in home care are based in Kil town center, where we have our shared offices, and travel to patients' homes in ordinary housing by walking, cycling, or using the municipality's vehicles.

The nursing team belongs to the Health, Care, and Services unit, which also includes municipal rehabilitation, needs assessment officers, memory teams, and support workers for relatives.

Job Responsibilities

As a nurse in the municipal home care service, your main responsibilities are to oversee health and medical care interventions for patients. You will perform independent assessments, medical treatments, and nursing care interventions at patients' homes. Preventive work to maintain health and well-being is also part of your daily tasks.

Work in home care requires great flexibility in daily planning structures. Patients' health and well-being fluctuate and sometimes change rapidly, making prioritization crucial for daily work. Today's work schedule may need to be restructured quickly.

You enjoy planning and working independently but have a strong ability to collaborate within the team and across professions. You can find solutions when obstacles arise. No two days are alike, but with good collaboration within the entire nursing team, we succeed together in our mission to provide health and medical care services to the citizens of Kil Municipality.

The position also includes delegating and supervising care and support staff in health and medical care interventions, as well as being a professional support for patients and their relatives.

Our working hours are scheduled for day, evening, and weekend shifts (4 evenings over 12 weeks and every 6th weekend).

Qualifications

You are a licensed nurse. It is an advantage if you have completed further education specializing as a district nurse or in elderly care, and have experience from home care.

Personal qualities are highly valued.
