About the workplace
Ersta Hospital is part of Ersta Diaconal University College and is Sweden's largest non-profit hospital with a clear value base – seeing the whole person. With roots dating back to 1851, we have provided healthcare on Södermalm in Stockholm, but we receive patients from all over the country. Here we offer high-quality, specialized healthcare with both breadth and peak competence. We are a university healthcare unit and conduct research, education, and development in collaboration with Karolinska Institutet. We are growing to help more people, and since 2023, the hospital's capacity has tripled and eight new units have started.
At Postop/ICU, we work in teams with nursing assistants, critical care nurses, physiotherapists, and doctors. We have space for both recovery, postoperative care, and three intensive care beds.
"The fact that the hospital is smaller means everything is close by and collaboration comes naturally. We care for each other and help each other out," says Anna, a critical care nurse.
As an employee with us, you will receive:
Security through collective agreements and occupational pension.
Competence development and the opportunity to participate in research.
Health promotion allowance and benefits portal via Benifex.
A workplace where high specialist competence goes hand in hand with care, community, and genuine engagement for both patients and staff.
About the role
As a critical care nurse with us:
You provide postoperative care after surgery.
You care for patients in need of intensive care.
You are part of our internal on-call team around the clock.
You use bedside reporting according to SBAR where the patients themselves are involved.
"Here I feel that I am doing a good job and have time for my patients. I don't use my critical care competence every day – but when it is needed, it is decisive," says Anna.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who:
Are stable, secure, and entrepreneurial in your professional role and maintain focus and judgment even in stressful and complex situations.
Easily adapt to changed circumstances and can prioritize when the situation requires it.
Value teamwork with your colleagues and patients.
You see the value of both medical competence and human presence. You understand that care, communication, and the ability to create security are an important part of the profession as a critical care nurse.
You share Ersta's value base of seeing the whole person and our keywords: professionalism, trust, and hope.
Your experience
To be considered for the position, you must be a licensed nurse with further education in critical care or anesthesia and have experience working in an intensive care unit.
It is meritorious if you have experience of surgical care and experience of development work. We view it positively if you have worked in TakeCare and/or Orbit.
Other information about the recruitment
Selection takes place continuously. Interviews begin from week 30.
We apply probationary employment as standard.
Before employment, we will request extracts from the suspicion and burden register.
