The position of Data Protection Specialist is located within the Unit for Information Security, Data Protection, and Public Access to Information, which is part of the Information Area in the Corporate Office staff at Region Skåne.
Our unit consists of 14 employees working with information security, data protection, and public access to information. The work is conducted regionally at a strategic/tactical level, supporting the corporate management and administrations in their information management work regarding data protection issues.
Location: Malmö or Kristianstad, as agreed.

Responsibilities
As a regional developer, you contribute your professionalism to developing Region Skåne's work with data protection. You keep an eye on the horizon to see what lies ahead, conduct analyses, propose measures, and create governing documents within your area of responsibility. You work purposefully in your mission to manage and further develop Region Skåne's management system for information security and data protection.
A central part of your work involves identifying Region Skåne's needs and challenges in the area and linking them to the further development of Region Skåne's collective capabilities and operations. In this role, you will use your broad knowledge in the field to lead, drive development, and follow up on data protection work. Additionally, you will contribute your expert knowledge and experience both internally and in collaboration with other authorities and organizations by driving development and leading meetings to achieve regional goals within information security and data protection.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a university/college education in the relevant field of knowledge, or alternatively other education and/or experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have relevant experience in information security or data protection, risk management, and compliance. Furthermore, a requirement for the position is that you have experience in leading, developing, or implementing processes and projects. Very good skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are required.
It is meritorious if you have experience working according to the ISO 27000 series or ISO 9000 series. Experience from public sector operations is desirable but not a requirement.
In your role as a developer, you are driven by a strong desire to contribute to good information management in public operations where personal integrity is safeguarded. You have a natural aptitude for seeing and explaining connections between different areas responsible for data protection, showing through various examples that good data protection work depends on several different factors. You base your arguments on substantiated data.
To succeed in the role, you are meticulous with a high focus on quality, meaning you think critically and analytically. This also means being able to balance the demand for transparency in public operations with the need to protect sensitive information and individuals' privacy. You have the ability to communicate in a pedagogical and structured way, easily adapting your communication to the recipient and situation. You have a diplomatic ability to present risks and measures. Furthermore, you are a team player in the team working strategically at the regional level.
