About the Role
Do you want a meaningful job where you can make a real difference for both society and the energy transition? Here, you are part of a society-critical operation with exciting projects, cutting-edge technology, and colleagues who value each other.
We are currently looking for several experienced Station Technicians who want to help build the maintenance operations of the future!
We are facing one of Vattenfall Eldistribution's largest investments ever – a historic mobilization to build a stronger, more resilient, and fully independent capability in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. In a time when the external environment places increasingly high demands on robustness and durability, we are taking decisive steps to secure a grid that can withstand harsh conditions and deliver when needed most.
Responsibilities and Tasks
As a Station Technician, you play a central role in ensuring that our power facilities from 0.4 up to 400 kV are safe, available, and ready for future energy needs. In this role, you will have a varied and practical field-based job, combining advanced technical problem-solving with precise digital documentation. Together with colleagues in operations, maintenance, and projects, you contribute to a grid with high operational security and quality, where your technical expertise makes a real difference in everyday life, both for our facilities and society.
Your main tasks include:
- Performing service, operation, maintenance, construction, and troubleshooting in substations and power facilities.
- Conducting rounds, inspections, and controls according to established maintenance programs and reporting deviations.
- Working according to ESA, EBR, and current safety routines, as well as participating in risk assessments and work preparations.
- Performing maintenance, repairs, and connections on switchgear equipment, such as transformers, breakers, disconnectors, tap changers, battery systems, as well as working with thermography and earth resistance tests, etc.
- Minor reconstructions and fault corrections may be included in the role.
- Documenting performed work and handling work orders in our digital systems.
- Contributing to the development of working methods and routines for increased safety and quality.
The role involves a strong focus on safety, quality, progress, and engagement. Safety is the guiding star in everything we do; in a risky environment, we take care of each other and create security together.
The work is carried out on behalf of the maintenance manager. Travel within the area and on-call duties may be included as a natural part of the assignment.
Requirements
We are looking for you who have good technical understanding, a high level of safety awareness, and an interest in working in complex power facilities. You are structured, careful, and take responsibility for both quality and safety in your work.
We prefer that you have:
- Upper secondary education in power/electricity or equivalent vocational higher education (YH).
- Experience as a station technician, power engineer, distribution electrician, industrial electrician, or similar.
- Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.
- Category B driver's license.
It is an advantage if you have good ability to read drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation, as well as a basic understanding of control, protection, and monitoring systems.
