Gubbängsskolan is a comprehensive school (grades F-9) located in Gubbängen, Farsta district. Our vision is "A school where everyone wants to develop and gets the desire to learn more." We want to gather the best competencies and are now looking for you who want to work in a dynamic and creative environment.
We are currently looking for a social pedagogue to work with us in grades 4-6.
Your role
In the role of social pedagogue, you provide support to students, teachers, and guardians regarding social issues and collaborate with relevant professions at the school and possibly authorities/external parties.
Your task is to provide students with knowledge and strategies to develop their social skills within school and leisure activities, and in close cooperation with other staff, to develop and strengthen prosocial norms in the operations.
- You work remedially and preventively against long-term school absenteeism, where home visits may be part of the assignment. You are responsible for managing absence statistics and leading absence investigations.
- You have an important role in our student health team and contribute to the middle school steering group. You contribute to analyses and systematic quality work regarding safety issues and school absenteeism.
- You plan and carry out, together with other staff, activities based on the goals of the curriculum and other governing documents. MVP (Meeting against Violence) may be part of this as the school works with this violence prevention program in grade 5.
- You collaborate with teachers and other educators in the classroom and work with student support and safety work. This may, for example, involve observations of group dynamics in the classroom.
- You support individual students as needed.
- Your approach is coaching-oriented, and you work with students both individually and in groups. Regular conversations with you may be part of the special support given to students in need.
- You are part of the teamwork at "Hörnet," our after-school club.
You will become an important part of our safety work and be responsible for organizing student social activities and other group-strengthening activities, as well as being guiding in conflict resolution between students throughout the school day.
You will also become an important part of our student health team. In the role, you are also expected to create necessary documentation in accordance with current guidelines and laws and participate in student health work.
Your competence and experience
We are looking for you who are educated as a social pedagogue, social worker, or have another post-secondary education of at least two years with a focus on behavioral science, pedagogy, or equivalent. A university degree is meritorious.
We would like you to have worked for several years in a similar position and have experience working with children/young people in a school environment. You have experience working with students with neuropsychiatric functional variations. You have experience with systematic quality work and are interested in contributing to overarching analyses.
As a person, you are:
- calm and stable, with good ability to communicate and create positive relationships with students and guardians, thereby creating safety.
- engaged, responsible, flexible, and solution-focused.
- analytical and creative.
You should have a good ability to be independent and responsible in your work. You should also have a good ability to express yourself both in writing and orally, as documentation is an important part of the work. You have the ability to focus on the right things and you act in accordance with decisions made, curriculum, goals, policies, and guidelines. Experience with documentation in Prorenata and Infomentor is meritorious.
You have a clear student focus and a positive attitude towards the students, your work, and your work team as well as the entire school. We would like you to have good digital competence.
