Jakobsberg University Health Centre is part of SLSO (Stockholm County Council). We are located at Jakobsberg Hospital, a short walk from Jakobsberg Centre and just 18 minutes by commuter train from Stockholm City. At Jakobsberg Hospital, we collaborate closely with our neighboring care units such as geriatrics, ASIH, NV Rehabilitation, laboratories, radiology, and more.

We are a pleasant workplace with approximately 50 employees in various professions. We have around 13,400 registered patients and are one of the larger health centres in the region.

About the position

The number of patients in home care is growing and is an important part of the primary care mandate.

We have a well-functioning and engaged team of employees who currently work in home care.

As a specialist in geriatrics/general practice at Jakobsberg Health Centre, you are primarily responsible for the medical care of our home care patients, but you also see elderly patients at the health centre. The work requires broad medical competence, independence, and good collaboration skills with different professional groups.

We are a university health centre, which means we are responsible, among other things, for the further education of healthcare personnel in certain knowledge areas. At Jakobsberg University Health Centre, our knowledge areas include Cancer in Primary Care (CaPrim), Neurological Diseases, Pain, and Elderly Health. We also participate in numerous studies, and several of our employees have defended their doctoral theses and conduct part-time research.

Qualifications:

  • Specialist in geriatrics or general practice
  • Previous experience working in geriatrics or primary care is meritorious
  • Experience with the medical record system TakeCare
  • Good communication skills in Swedish and English
  • Valid driver's license

Employment type:

Permanent full-time position (100%) as a geriatrician or general practitioner; part-time can be discussed.

Working hours: Monday–Friday, free on weekends and holidays

Probationary period may apply.

The position is filled subject to the condition that it does not need to be allocated for internal transfer, according to current regulations.

For patient-facing work within Stockholm County Council:

  • A register check is applied before the decision on employment according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for register checks upon employment.
  • Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which is conducted through occupational health services before employment.
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required, in addition to a Swedish professional license. The same requirement applies to non-licensed staff with patient contact.
