About the unit

Södermanland Group (SLG) is a military region group responsible for planning and conducting training for the 27th Home Guard Battalion (Södermanland Home Guard Battalion).

SLG is part of Military Region Central (MR M) and is based in Strängnäs.

Main responsibilities

The position belongs to the Planning Section, which works with planning, cooperation with civil operations within the framework of total defense, economics, and personnel services.

In the role of Recruitment Coordinator, you are responsible for the recruitment process to the 27th Home Guard Battalion. As a Recruitment Coordinator, you drive the recruitment to the Home Guard battalion and are responsible for coordinating the work with the unit's commanders. You are also responsible for structuring, supporting, and following up on the implementation of the recruitment work, as well as participating in recruitment meetings.

You plan and lead recruitment events. As support for these tasks, you work with the IT systems PRIO and Mitt FM. You will also work with websites and social media.

You have significant responsibility for how the work is carried out and are expected to have close cooperation with your colleagues in the section, the military region group, and the battalion's personnel.

You are accustomed to working independently towards set goals. The work takes place primarily in an office environment, but field duty may occur. Work with personnel supply and recruitment activities towards the Home Guard.

Requirements

  • Swedish citizenship
  • Approved security and register investigation
  • Approved upper secondary education
  • Driver's license class B (manual)

Qualifications

  • Good ability to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing
  • Good IT skills regarding Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Good administrative ability
  • Experience speaking in front of larger groups of personnel
  • Ability to lead work groups

Personal qualities

We are looking for someone who is stimulated by working with people, is solution-oriented, responsible, and has a good ability to switch between details and the overall perspective. You should be used to working both independently and in a group. The role of Recruitment Coordinator involves many personal contacts, and therefore we value that you are communicative, find it easy to talk to people both via phone, personal meetings, and through digital media.

You need to be structured, careful, and able to plan and prioritize your work efficiently, even in situations with many balls in the air or when conditions change. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

Merits

  • GMU/Conscription, previous employment in the Armed Forces or equivalent
  • Experience and knowledge in PRIO (SAP)
  • Experience with the Swedish Armed Forces' operations
  • Experience with the Home Guard and voluntary organizations
  • Professional Instructor training within the Swedish Armed Forces
  • Education in HR, behavioral science

Employment form: Permanent employment – a six-month probationary period applies if you do not currently work for the Swedish Armed Forces.

Military Region Central (MR M) is a wartime unit and an organizational unit where the Commander and Staff are located in Kungsängen. The organization consists of the Commander with staff, six training groups for training and support of the Home Guard, and approx. 7000 Home Guard soldiers organized in eleven battalions and a number of independent units. The Commander of Military Region Central with regional staff leads subordinate units, cooperates with regional and local actors, leads security and intelligence services, and supports operational and tactical commanders who solve tasks within the region. The region also functions as a link between the Swedish Armed Forces and civil society, has active cooperation with the county administrative board and the region. If necessary, MR M also leads operations, for example in national crisis situations and support to society. The Military Region solves tasks in peace, crisis, and war.

Military Region Central's organization and area of operation cover the geographical counties of Stockholm, Uppsala, Södermanland, Västmanland, Dalarna, and Gävleborg. Training groups and the Home Guard are present in each county.
