Company Description
AFRY offers services within engineering, design, digitalization, and consulting. We are dedicated experts within industry, energy, and infrastructure, creating value for future generations. AFRY has Nordic roots with global reach. Our shared principles - Result-driven, Client-centric, Empowering, and Accountable - guide us in how we work, develop, and succeed together. Join us in accelerating the transition to a sustainable society.
Job Description
We have nearly 300 employees in the region stretching from Gävle all the way up to Kiruna. We deliver tomorrow's infrastructure solutions within road, street, and earthworks design, as well as other socially beneficial specialist competencies to our customers.
On January 1, 2014, we started a section called Geotechnics North within the region. This section has now grown to nearly 60 employees across the entire region, including handling geotechnical engineers, geotechnical accountants, field geotechnicians, and a lab manager. Currently, we work with 15 complete field units consisting of drilling rigs, trucks, and service vehicles.
We are now looking for a new Section Manager for our entire geo-activities in the North.
As a Service Area Manager with us, you will have a role with great variation, opportunities for many contacts and customer meetings, with the responsibility to achieve successful and sustainable businesses. You are responsible for the section's operations, including planning, strategies, profitability, marketing, quality, personnel, and competence development. You combine your management role with working as a consultant for some time, potentially as a project manager or expert.
You report to the Regional Manager, and together with four subordinate group managers, you lead and drive the section forward. Since our geo activities span geographically across the entire region, the place of residence is less important.
Qualifications
At AFRY, we are all team players, and in the role of Section Manager, it is required that you are engaged, receptive, curious, and collaborative. As a leader, you are passionate about creating and developing businesses and relationships both internally and externally. You have a university or civil engineering degree, or alternatively, long experience within infrastructure with a focus on geotechnics.
You need to master Swedish and English fluently in speech and writing.
To succeed in the role, we believe you have at least 10 years of experience working in different roles and stages within societal construction projects with a focus on geotechnics, either as a consultant, contractor, or client. You are driven by having contact with existing and potential customers, both within the framework of ongoing assignments and seeing opportunities for new business. Problem-solving is a natural and enjoyable part of the work, and you enjoy sharing your knowledge to find innovative, sustainable solutions for society together with colleagues and customers. Previous experience from the consulting industry and a broad network are meritorious.
Additional Information
AFRY is ranked as one of Sweden's most popular employers among engineers. With us, you help develop innovative and sustainable solutions within infrastructure, energy, and industry. We offer a workplace with forward momentum and security through collective agreements and employee benefits such as flexible hours and paid parental leave, among others, for all our employees.
