We have a consolidated responsibility for integration, employment, education, and employment issues affecting the residents of our municipality. The administration is also responsible for the Cultural School, food services, and Student Health. We are now looking for a teacher in Home and Consumer Studies who wants to contribute to our students' learning, security, and future opportunities.

Stureskolan is a secondary school (grades 7–9) in the city center with approximately 370 students. It also includes a preparatory class for newly arrived students, an adapted primary school, and ISB – International School of Boden.

We are organized into four work teams where collaboration and collegial learning are at the center. Each work team is led by a special needs educator who also serves as the team leader. We have a strong sharing culture where we support each other and develop teaching together.

Our student health services are well-developed and consist of the principal, deputy principals, special needs educators, counselor, school nurse, school psychologist, as well as study and career counselors. Together, we work to promote and prevent issues to create the best possible conditions for our students.

We also have a security team with security coordinators and resources that contribute to good relationships and a safe school environment both during lessons and at recess.

Currently, we are working specifically to strengthen student attendance and their reading and writing development. Through our work within BUUS – Boden Develops Teaching Systematically – we continuously develop the quality of teaching to increase student goal achievement.

WORK ASSIGNMENTS

We are looking for you who want to work with us as a teacher in Home and Consumer Studies.

In this role, you are responsible for teaching in grades 7–9. You plan, conduct, and follow up on teaching based on the goals of the curriculum and create learning environments where students develop both knowledge and important skills for life.

The position also includes being a contact teacher, where you, together with colleagues, work to ensure that every student feels secure, motivated, and has a conducive study environment, as well as the best possible conditions to succeed in their schooling.

You become an important part of the school's development work and actively contribute to collegial learning and the continued development of our operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with the eligibility to teach Home and Consumer Studies. You have good pedagogical insights and are well-acquainted with the school's governing documents, and you see collaboration as a natural and important part of the teaching profession. You want to contribute to the school's development and thrive in an environment where collegial learning and shared responsibility are in focus.

As a person, you have an easy time creating and maintaining good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You are clear, engaged, and structured in your leadership, creating a safe and stimulating learning environment where students are given the conditions to develop and succeed. You use digital tools as a natural part of teaching and see the opportunities that digitization offers to strengthen student learning.
