We offer preschool, primary school, and upper secondary school for children and young people between the ages of 0 and 19. Together, we work towards the vision of creating a top-class educational environment. Here, you have the chance to be part of an inspiring and developmental environment where every child's and young person's potential is nurtured. We are now looking for dedicated and passionate employees who want to help shape the future of education in Haparanda. Are you ready to make a difference and contribute to creating a brighter future for our youth? Come and become part of our dedicated team!
Aspstrandens School is a preschool to grade 6 school (F–6) with approximately 225 students and a multilingual student body. Our mission is to give every student the best conditions to achieve the goals of the curriculum through safe, language-developing, and structured teaching.
Your Profile
We are currently looking for two employees who will work closely with students, both in the classroom and in other learning environments. The role involves planning, leading, and developing teaching together with colleagues, as well as independently organizing and distributing work for individual students based on their needs and prerequisites. The role also includes being a clear and secure adult figure, building relationships, and contributing to creating study peace and motivation among students.
You will become an important part of the school's joint work to ensure that all students are given the opportunity to develop as far as possible based on the curriculum's goals.
Your Responsibilities
- Plan, lead, and conduct teaching in accordance with the curriculum's goals, both in smaller groups and individually with students.
- Adapt and differentiate teaching based on students' needs, prerequisites, and prior knowledge.
- Work with language development in all subjects and contribute to developing students' language skills in both speech and writing.
- Build trusting relationships with students and be a secure adult who creates study peace and promotes motivation.
- Support students in developing their self-esteem, sense of responsibility, and social skills.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues, special needs teachers, student health teams, and guardians to create a holistic approach to the student's learning and development.
- Distribute and organize work so that students receive the right support both during lessons and in other learning environments (e.g., recess, after-school care).
- Participate in the school's systematic quality work, for example by following up on teaching results and contributing to the development of working methods.
- Document and follow up on students' knowledge development.
- Act as a mentor for a group of students and be responsible for development conferences and contact with guardians.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you with a teaching license and strong personal suitability for work in a preschool to grade 6 school. You are engaged, relationship-building, and have the ability to create security and trust in interactions with students. You can lead a group, but also adapt and distribute work at the individual level so that every student receives the right support and challenge.
We would like you to have experience teaching students with different backgrounds and needs. It is an advantage if you have experience with language-developing teaching and with students in need of special support.
To succeed in the role, you need to be flexible, solution-focused, and able to collaborate closely with colleagues, while also having the ability to take independent responsibility and make decisions on the spot. You use digital tools as a natural part of your planning, teaching, and documentation.
The Employment
The employment is a fixed-term position during the academic year 2026/2027.
Interviews may be conducted on an ongoing basis, so do not wait with your application.
In accordance with the School Act, an extract from the police record must be presented upon employment within preschool, preschool class, after-school care, primary school, and upper secondary school. We therefore encourage you to order an extract from the police record directly after submitting your application.
