About the School

Tallbackaskolan is a primary school (grades F-6) with approximately 325 students, a leisure-time center department, and two preparatory classes. The school is located in a residential area between Gällivare and Malmberget. At Tallbackaskolan, we work with parts of the "Gällivare Model," which means that in each class in grades 1–2, there is a lead teacher and a class mentor. In grades 3–6, a lead teacher works with support from a class mentor, who may be linked to one or several classes. The central student health services are located at the school, and students have access to a school counselor, school nurse, two special education teachers, a school psychologist, and the principals. The leisure-time center complements the school by developing students' abilities through various forms of expression, based on their interests.

Job Responsibilities

As a teacher, your main responsibilities include planning, teaching, evaluation, and values-based work based on the national curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with your colleagues at the school.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a qualified teacher with authorization to teach textile crafts (textile technology/crafts). You should have knowledge of handling computers and technology in your daily work. We expect you to be responsible, clear, and driven, as well as having an easy time building good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. Commitment, innovative thinking, solution-focus, and the interest and ability to collaborate are qualities that the school values highly.

Personal suitability is given great weight.

A certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) is required upon employment.

In accordance with the National Minority Language Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative authority for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is meritorious when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.

Working Hours/Duration

Part-time position, with the possibility of full-time if you combine teaching at several schools or have qualifications in a subject that can be combined with the position at the school. The employment is permanent. A probationary period may apply.
