Are you our new colleague? We are expanding with a new unit within Child and Family Services (BoF), SF Southwest, and are looking for a Senior Social Secretary for one of our teams.

About the job

Our newly established unit will consist of two teams, each with six social secretaries. Each team is led by a senior social secretary, and the unit is managed by a unit manager. One team works with official duties regarding children at risk of criminal involvement (ages 6–12), and the other team works with the target group of youth in criminal involvement (ages 13–18). All teams work with the age group 0–18. Since the unit is new, you and the other employees will have the opportunity to influence and develop working methods within the unit.

In your role as Senior Social Secretary, you distribute and lead the work. You are responsible for case distribution, case management, and legal certainty within your team. It is important for you to be accessible, to coach, and to provide methodological guidance in daily work. You guide social secretaries on the importance of good treatment and collaboration with the family, their network, and cooperation partners (both within and outside the administration). As a Senior Social Secretary, you represent the social services in individual committees, administrative courts, administrative courts of appeal, and similar legal processes. Keeping up to date with laws, regulations, and current research is a natural part of your work. It is important and necessary to be able to collaborate and cooperate with others in this role. Here you work together with your senior colleagues; you have close contact where you support each other and develop the operations.

Together with other Senior Social Secretaries, you conduct reviews of laws, regulations, and the National Board of Health and Welfare's guidelines for social secretaries. You collaborate with other senior colleagues within the City of Gothenburg and participate in regular network meetings.

We work with the best interests of the child in focus and use LÖSA as a tool to increase children's participation. We have a solution-focused approach and deepen the investigation work by offering our social secretaries the opportunity to participate in development groups, such as VIN, School, Disability Support, Psychiatry, and BBIC. We have also appointed Social Secretaries with Special Assignments (SMSU), whose task is to introduce new case handlers, which relieves you as a Senior Social Secretary. You work on behalf of and together with the responsible manager. You have access to your own office. Process guidance is conducted together with other Senior Social Secretaries within BoF. Our office is strategically located at Lergöksgatan 2a, near Frölunda Torg.

About you

For this position, we are looking for you who have a degree in social work and several years of experience in official duties within the field of Children and Youth. You have a strong child perspective and work to ensure the child's voice and participation in the case handling process. You have good knowledge and practical experience of current legislation. We want you to be well-versed in case handling and documentation within Child and Youth Services, based on legal certainty and quality, and that you can guide social secretaries well in the area. We would like you to have previous experience of leadership roles, for example as a Senior Social Secretary. This is not a requirement, but having a B-driving license is an advantage.

You are calm and secure in pressured and difficult situations. You can balance the demands placed on you and can, despite time pressure, make well-founded decisions. You take responsibility for your tasks and the group's tasks. You think about those we are here for and their best interests. You do your best to complete all tasks correctly and follow up on the results.

You work well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. You understand the common mission and work to make it as good as possible. You can see your work as part of a larger context and understand how it affects and is affected by other parts of the organization. You collaborate with others on overarching issues to create value.

You take into account different information sources and perspectives and can adapt others' ideas to your own operations. You plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively. You ensure that work is completed on time and follow up on the results. You can effectively identify and analyze the core of a problem and propose possible solutions. You have the ability to see connections and draw logical conclusions from limited and/or complex information.
