Then you could be the support family we are looking for. Tjörn Municipality is currently seeking an experienced and secure support family in the local area for a child aged 9–11.

Responsibilities

The child has a disability that entails a comprehensive need for support, supervision, structure, and security in daily life. To thrive and develop, the child needs clear routines, predictability, and calm environments. The child also requires stimulation and motivation in everyday activities and may struggle to handle stress and changes.

We are looking for secure, stable, and engaged adults who provide a low-affective approach and can create a calm and safe environment. The child has a great need for closeness and security and does not sleep alone.

The child has epilepsy, which means it is important that you have knowledge of, or are willing to learn more about, the child's specific seizure type. The seizures can be serious and require adults to act calmly, securely, and according to given instructions. You will receive clear information on how to handle seizures, and medication must always be accessible. Currently, there are no seizures at night.

The child also has allergies and requires a special diet, which demands precision and responsibility in daily life.

The child can communicate in 2-5 word sentences and understands spoken language unless the sentences are too long. In communication, signs and picture support are used as a complement to understand and be understood.

The child has a strong fear of dogs, which means there cannot be a dog in the home. Meetings with dogs outdoors can also cause significant anxiety. However, a cat in the home works well.

In their free time, the child enjoys swimming in the indoor pool or the sea, riding a tricycle, and watching animals, especially chickens and rabbits.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who can offer the child full focus based on the child's needs. A smaller household is desirable, preferably without other children, as the child finds it difficult to stay in larger groups.

The assignment covers two days per month.

Tjörn Municipality offers close supervision and the support needed for you to feel secure in the assignment.

Duration: 6 months or longer.

Tjörn Municipality requires a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) in connection with this recruitment. Visit the police website to request a certificate of good conduct. This can be done digitally with an e-ID or by filling out a form. Note that processing time can be up to two weeks, so order the extract in good time.
