The Pediatric Day Surgery and Postoperative Ward is part of the Pediatric Surgery and Neonatal Care business area. Here we care for children up to 20 years old in connection with surgeries. The ward consists of two units: a day surgery unit and a postoperative unit. The day surgery unit has nine care beds covering the specialties of surgery, orthopedics, pediatric dentistry, maxillofacial and neurosurgery, as well as ear, nose, and throat surgery. The postoperative unit has seven care beds that receive children after anesthesia from all existing specialties in the pediatric hospital. As a nurse, you work within both of our units. From here, the children are then sent on to their respective care wards or day care.

Job Responsibilities
As a nurse with us, you work with a variety of postoperative care and day surgery care. In day surgery care, you can follow the patients from when they arrive until they are discharged. This involves receiving the child and their relatives, preparing them for surgery, receiving them after surgery, and ensuring they are well before discharge. In postoperative care, you take care of the child after surgery until they are ready to move on to the ward or day surgery.
We offer you an interesting and exciting job on a ward that is constantly developing. Here you have good opportunities to work with different areas of responsibility, and your introduction is adapted individually based on previous knowledge and experience.
Our opening hours are currently Monday to Thursday from 07:00 to 21:00, Friday from 07:00 to 19:00, and Saturday from 09:00 to 17:00, all without holidays. Working hours may change/expand depending on the needs of the operations.
Do you have questions about the position or are you interested in coming here to observe? Do not hesitate to contact our unit manager Lena at 046-17 74 96.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with eligibility to work within Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale is a requirement. We would like you to have further education in pediatric care. It is an advantage if you have experience working with day surgery, postoperative care, or other pediatric care. Approved supervisor training of 7.5 higher education credits or in care science is desirable.
If you are interested in working in pediatric care but lack specialist training with a focus on children, there may be an opportunity for paid pediatric specialist training in the future when you work with us.
To be successful in the role, we believe you are an engaged pediatric nurse with a heart that beats for the children. Furthermore, you are good at collaborating with others and can quickly adapt when the situation requires it. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
