The Swedish Armed Forces are growing, and Försvarets hälso- och sjukvård (Försvarshälsan) is now looking for a physiotherapist to join our team. Do you want to contribute to health, performance, and development in a rapidly growing organization?
Västernorrland Regiment with Jämtland Ranger Corps (I 21) is an expanding unit with operations in three locations. Försvarshälsan operates in Sollefteå and Östersund.
About the Unit
Försvarshälsan is expanding its operations by adding a physiotherapist to meet the needs of a growing number of conscripts, cadets, and employees at I 21.
Försvarshälsan is the Swedish Armed Forces' internal occupational health service, providing occupational healthcare for employees and health and medical care for conscripts during basic training. Our mission is to support the unit with defense medical competence and contribute to good health, working environment, and performance capacity through health-promoting, preventive, and rehabilitative measures.
You will work in an interdisciplinary team consisting of nurses, physiotherapists, doctors, medical secretaries, occupational health and safety engineers, and wellness leaders.

Main Responsibilities
As a physiotherapist at Försvarshälsan, you will work with both health-promoting and preventive measures as well as assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation. The focus is on sports- and load-related issues among conscripts and cadets, but you will also support employees through medical assessments and rehabilitation efforts.
You will work closely with Försvarshälsan's wellness leader and contribute jointly to developing and supporting training, health, and physical performance capacity within the unit. The role involves many contact points and close collaboration with other professions within Försvarshälsan.
Qualifications
- Licensed physiotherapist
- At least 5 years of professional experience
- Experience working within the Swedish Armed Forces
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
- Driver's license, category B or higher
Meritorious Qualifications
- Specialist or further education in a relevant area, such as ergonomics or OMT, or equivalent competence in diagnostics and treatment
- Experience in occupational healthcare and sports medicine
- Experience independently driving projects and conducting training initiatives
- Completed conscript service, previous experience serving in the Swedish Armed Forces and/or overseas service
- Experience conducting physical performance tests, especially within the military

Other Information
Location: Försvarshälsan Sollefteå. Service in other locations may occur.
Employment: Full-time
Working hours: (40 hours/week). Mostly scheduled during daytime on weekdays, but scheduled service at other times may occur. The position includes 3 hours of physical training during working hours.
Employment: Permanent position starting with a 6-month probationary period.
Start date: As agreed after approved security check.
Internal training and travel within the service occur. Individual salary setting applies.

Information about the Swedish Armed Forces and the recruiting unit: In 2022, Västernorrland Regiment with Jämtland Ranger Corps, I 21, was re-established. A new regiment with centuries-old traditions in Västernorrland and Jämtland. Here, you have the opportunity to be part of something unique, the re-establishment of the infantry in Lower Norrland. I 21 currently operates in Sollefteå, Östersund, and Härnösand and is responsible for Garrison Lower Norrland. At Ångermanland Infantry Battalion and Jämtland Ranger Corps, conscript soldiers are trained for service in the new modern infantry to operate from mountains to sea in a subarctic environment. The Swedish Armed Forces' work is strongly linked to the agency's value base, which is built on openness, results, and responsibility. We see this as particularly important in the current growth considering the external environment, but also for professional development. Personal health is valued and encouraged, as it is required to do a good job defending Sweden. Security screening with register check will be conducted prior to employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Swedish citizenship is required in most cases to pass this. Employment within the Swedish Armed Forces also includes a war-time placement, and further includes an obligation to serve abroad if necessary.
