The Development Unit at the Army Combat School (MSS) is seeking a Development Officer in the area of Unit Development for Armored Transport Capability within the Army.

The role of the Army Combat School (MSS) is to create the prerequisites for the Army to solve its assigned tasks in the best possible way, both nationally and internationally, in collaboration with other parts of the Army. MSS also handles tasks for the entire Swedish Armed Forces, such as the development and procurement of soldier-borne equipment, small arms, and support weapons. Within this framework, the Army Combat School educates the Armed Forces' future commanders using advanced training facilities and extensive knowledge.
About the Development Unit
The Development Unit at the Army Combat School provides the Army Staff, the Defense Staff, other parts of the Swedish Armed Forces, and other authorities with results from trials and studies, decision support, and advice. The unit is organized into a unit leadership and six departments, including one unit and capability-oriented department, one study and experiment department, two unit departments (battalion with materiel responsibility for standardized vehicles, one in Skövde and one in Kvarn, Borensberg), a command and control development department, and a publications department. The Development Unit leads capability development for unit types (division, brigade, maneuver battalions, and independent companies) on behalf of and in close cooperation with the Army Staff.
Main Responsibilities
As a Representative for the Armored Transport Company Unit Type, you will work on development issues regarding the capabilities required for the Army to conduct movements of heavy materiel, specifically tanks/armored vehicles and tracked vehicles. The position involves, among other things, participation in trials/wargames/studies, participation in materiel development, work on unit objectives, manuals, and regulations, and some training. The work will involve many contact surfaces such as other functional schools, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), the Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI), and industry.
Qualifications
- The position is at level SO/7, but your background, length of service, and experience are highly valued. The Army Combat School sees it as natural to be part of your career development and to offer level-advancing education if desired.
- You have experience with today's armored transport company or logistics within a maneuver battalion (transported units).
- You have good skills in expressing yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.
- Class B driver's license (manual transmission).

We are looking for someone who has good abilities in cooperation and collaboration, both internally and externally within the Army Combat School and the Swedish Armed Forces. You have a strong desire to develop yourself and your area of responsibility. You are driven but patient, and have good ability to work independently and goal-oriented. You have high integrity and are security-conscious. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
