We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager with a focus on subway projects for a traffic authority.

This is a consultancy assignment. The location is Stockholm.

The position is full-time.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

As a Construction Manager, you will be part of the project's construction management organization and be responsible for leading and monitoring the construction of stations, platforms, service tunnels, access points, ticket halls, and ventilation shafts. The role involves monitoring the contractor's execution regarding cost, time, quality, safety, working environment, environment, and social sustainability.

You ensure that the contracts are carried out according to contract documents, requirements, and conditions, and contribute to good cooperation with contractors and subcontractors. The role also includes coordination with other sub-projects and external operations, as well as representing the client in meetings with contractors, designers, partners, stakeholders, and the public. You report to the sub-project manager.

Responsibilities

• Assist the sub-project manager in daily project work.
• Review design documents.
• Ensure that contracts are carried out according to contract documents and set requirements.
• Handle notifications and alerts.
• Actively participate in safety and environmental rounds.
• Plan for and ensure that work is carried out according to the project's quality plans.
• Monitor the contractor's quality work, control plans, and documentation.
• Participate in coordination with adjacent contractors and construction works.
• Perform spot checks of the contractor's self-control regarding working environment, safety, environment, social sustainability, and quality.
• Report defects and deficiencies, and if necessary, stop work that risks life and health.
• Review basis for work preparations and ensure that requirements, designed solutions, and working environment aspects are met.
• Monitor economy through documentation of additional work and quantity deviations, review of diaries, economic documents, and invoices, and contribute to forecasts for economy and time.
• Assist project management with planning and coordination in time and space with adjacent operations and facility owners.

Requirements (Mandatory)

• Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.
• At least 8 years of experience as a Construction Manager or equivalent in construction contracts involving structural completion.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Construction Manager or Production Manager with financial responsibility in large (over 300 million) and complex projects.
• Experience working as a client in at least one assignment.

Merits

• Experience in executing at least one major (over 300 million) project in collaboration with running account.
• Experience from construction management of steel structures and complex forging works in Building & Installation projects in at least one project over 150 million SEK.
• Experience working in at least one project with model-based construction documents.

Other Requirements

As a Construction Manager, the person must be proactive, independent, structured, and solution-oriented, with good communication skills externally (with contractors and consultants) as well as internally with project colleagues within the sub-project and side projects.

Be flexible and able to see the big picture and dependencies.

Ability to collaborate with other construction and project management.

The Construction Manager is expected to have documented experience and competence from construction contracts in the structural completion phase and included moments and activities, such as glass and metal parts, steel assembly, concrete work, surface work (painting, terrazzo, and suspended ceilings), etc. In the construction manager role, it may be necessary to notify and inform contractors, which is assumed to be done linguistically and contractually correctly. Therefore, it is important that you are well acquainted with industry-specific regulations such as AB 04, ABT 06, ABK 09, AMA, and also have education and competence regarding Bas-U.
