Do you want to work with the development and procurement of maintenance equipment for the Gripen systems?

In the role of Maintenance Engineer for GSE (Ground Support Equipment), duties vary from investigative work to procurement preparation. You will be responsible for the maintenance equipment used for one or several material groups and will ensure recurring maintenance needs of equipment on behalf of the customer.

You will have close contact with adjacent disciplines such as ILS, maintenance preparation, design, and technical information, and you will work closely with the marketing and purchasing functions. It is through this collaboration that you contribute to executing our business assignments in the best possible way.

In the near future, there are opportunities to lead projects or assignments yourself, where you are expected to take economic responsibility for complete business cases and follow them up in business and financial systems. The role may involve travel to our sections in other locations, to our customers, and to the Swedish Armed Forces units. Your placement is at our Saab site in Malmslätt, Linköping.

Your profile

You have an engineering degree at university level or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways, for example as a flight test engineer, or another technical background with a few years of relevant work experience.

Since the position involves many contacts, we are looking for someone who finds it easy to work with other people and who enjoys creating and nurturing relationships.

You will work with a wide range of tasks in a dynamic environment, so we see that you have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

You organize your own work with good judgment and have a business-oriented approach.

You handle Swedish and English well in speech and writing, and hold a driver's license with at least category B.

Meritorious is experience with Gripen's maintenance system, requirements management, GSE, and ILS (Integrated Logistic Support), as well as good ability to read and understand mechanical design documentation.

What you will become a part of

Aeronautics, a business area within Saab, offers flight-related subsystems, unmanned aerial systems, aircraft structures, and services to defense customers and the civil aviation industry worldwide. Aeronautics is also responsible for the development, production, marketing, sales, and support of the Gripen system.

The section is part of the Ground Support Equipment Department (GSE). The department works with businesses directed towards the maintenance systems for Gripen, the Swedish Armed Forces' aircraft and helicopters, as well as facilities and hangars, with operations in Linköping, Arboga, and Östersund.

Our business assignments consist of supplying the maintenance systems with the right equipment so that preventive and corrective maintenance can be performed for our customers, end-users, and operators.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to current security clearance regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
