About the Unit

The Child and Family Unit consists of 26 employees who work with children and young people aged 0–21 years and their parents. The unit is led by a Unit Manager with support from two Team Leaders and is divided into a Reception Group, an Investigation Group, a Child Secretary Group, and a Foster Care Secretary Group. We also have an administrator belonging to the unit who supports the social secretaries in administrative tasks.

We are now looking for an employee for our Investigation Group.

1 position(s).

Job Description

As a Social Secretary in our Investigation Group, you will, together with your 8 colleagues, handle cases according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU) concerning children and young people aged 0–21. The tasks include receiving reports of concern, applications, and conducting protective and preliminary assessments. The work involves investigating children's needs according to BBIC, assessing and deciding on interventions, and following up on granted interventions such as open care.

You will have close collaboration with other social secretaries within the unit, as well as with our open care services and external partners.

You are led by the Team Leader and the Unit Manager in daily work. There are well-functioning and established routines and structures at the workplace. The unit continuously works on developing its own working methods and approaches.

All social secretaries in the group have been trained in the evidence-based risk assessment methods Earl and Savry. As a social secretary in the Investigation Group, you will also attend these trainings. Ronneby Municipality participates in SKR's "Yrkesresan" (Career Journey), which all employees are encouraged to participate in. We have made significant progress in our transition work based on the new Social Services Act, including well-established TSI work and IUB (interventions without needs assessment), as well as increased accessibility for our citizens. Since 2025, social secretaries have the opportunity to use speech recognition/reading services for documentation to reduce administrative time.

We offer you external supervision, competence development, and wellness activities during working hours, or alternatively, a wellness allowance. You will receive an individually adapted introduction based on your needs.

As our new colleague, you will gain experienced and engaged coworkers, a sense of community, and colleagues who support each other.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree in Social Work and previous experience in investigation work regarding children and young people. You should have good knowledge of current legislation, SoL and LVU, as well as BBIC.

As a person, we see that you are secure, stable, and have good self-awareness. In your work, you are relationship-building and enjoy collaboration both within your own work group and with other operations and authorities. It is a prerequisite that you can communicate well both orally and in writing.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Driver's license is required.

Other Information

We will begin interviews during the application period.

Employment type: Permanent position.

Please note that Ronneby Municipality has removed the cover letter from the application process. Instead, in the application procedure, you will answer a number of questions where you describe your competence in the requested area. In the selection process, we will base our assessment on these answers as a complement to your CV, and thus not request a cover letter.

In cases where there are legal requirements for extracts from the criminal record, you will need to provide such.

For some positions in Ronneby Municipality, we conduct background checks of final candidates.
